A Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics 7 Edtech

We subtracted the integers since they have unlike signs. We copied the sign of the integer with the greater absolute value, which was the negative integer in this case. Excellent! You all did great in applying the concept and operation of integers. Now, let me give you another activity to further enhance your understanding. This time the activity is "Integer Relay". (The teacher will divide the class into groups and will conduct the activity) Congratulations to the winning group! How was the activity? Did you enjoy? Students: Yes Ma'am! We learned while having fun through the activity. The relay helped us apply what we learned about adding, subtracting

Teachers Activity Students Activity

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer
(Teacher will prepare a video
presentation)
Let’s stand and pray.
(Students will stand.)
Good Morning, class!
Good Morning, Ma’am!
2. Checking of Attendance
Teacher will check the attendance

Are they many absentees today?

None Ma’am!
3. Checking of Assignment
Last meeting I gave you an
assignment by group, about the
topic. Our projector is ready, first
group; you may present your
downloaded video.
(First group will present their short video
clip about irrational numbers)
Very good group 1! The video you
have presented was very nice.
(Students will clap their hands)
Let’s proceed to the presentation of
group 2
(Group 2 will present their short video
about Rational Numbers.)
Nice job group 2! You presented an
ideal video clip.
Thank You Ma’am!
Okay last group, present your work.
(Group 3 will present their short video
about Integers)
Okay applause for yourselves class.
All groups presented their assigned
topics well.
(Students will clap their hands.)
Let’s go back to the presentation of
group 3. What can you say about the
short video that they presented?
(Some students raise their hands)
Yes, Carlo!
For me Ma’am, I understand the video,
yet its content was quiet unclear.
Thank you Carlo. Any other
interpretation?
(Nina will raise her hand)
Yes Nina!
Based on our diagram Ma’am, integers are
subset of Rational Numbers, there fine
integers are real numbers.
Thank you Nina!

B. Activity Prior Knowledge

1. Drill
For further information I have
prepared a game. Who among
you know/s the game 4 pics
(Students will raise their hands)
Did you enjoy the game class?
Yes Ma’am!
Then, what have you learned
from the game? Yes, Marlon!
It’s about pictures with negative and
positive side.

2. Review
Class do you still remember our
last topic about real numbers?
Yes Ma’am!
Okay now, what are the sets of
real number?
Yes Caroline!
Ma’am, rational and irrational numbers!
Very good! Now that our
previous topic has been cleared
let us proceed to our next
activity. The activity was entitled
“Put me up”
(Students will actively participate in the
activity)
Congratulation Ellah! You won
this activity. Did you enjoy
class?
Yes Ma’am!
3. Motivation
Do you want more?
Yes…Ma’am!
Okay, class the next game was
entitled “Are you ready?”
Yes Ma’am! But what’s the title of the
game?
“Are you ready?”
Ahh! (students laugh)
Congratulations to group 3
members are Rogelio, Daniel and
Jemalit.
(Students will clap their hands for the
winners)
C. Knowledge
During your previous mathematics,
you have learned about 1, 2, 3, 4 and
so on. What do you call these
numbers?
Counting numbers Ma’am!

Ok very good, now your task in our

next activity is to tell what kind of
number was written on my
presentation. Are you ready class?
Yes we are!

Activity (power point presentation)

Very good class!

Let us go back to the fifth item, why
is it there is a negative sign before
the number?
(Somebody will raise their hands)

Yes May!
Ma’am maybe because that number is not
existing.

Ok, thank you May.

Another?

Yes April!
Ma’am I read something about that kind
of number. It was stated there that if a
number has a negative sign preceding it,
then it belongs to the set of negative
integers.

Very good April!

But what if a number has no any
sign? Where do you think that
number belongs?
(June will raise his hand)
Yes June!
Ma’am I think that number belongs to set
of positive integers.

Why do you say so?

Because a number without any sign
proceeding it is considered as a positive
number.
Very well said June!

How about the number Zero?

Yes July!
Ma’am I think zero is neither positive nor
negative. Since Zero is neither of the two,
then we can consider it as a neutral
number.
Very good!

Now I have prepared a downloaded

video about these numbers which
will give you further information
about our topic today.

(The teacher will present her

prepared downloaded video)
( The students will excitedly watch the
video)

How do you find the video?

(Students will raise their hands)

Yes August!
Ma’am the video is all about the different
kinds of numbers which are integers.
Very good!

D. Process
Now that you have understood what
integers are, let us proceed to the
next lesson which is the operation of
it.

I have here another activity entitled

“Who Is Me?”

The winning group is …Group -1!

(Students will clap their hands)
Did you enjoy the game class?
Yes Ma’am, we had fun while learning.
Group -1, who answered station 4
correctly, what did you do to answer
it accurately?
We changed the sign of the subtrahend
and we also change the operation from
subtraction to addition.

Good job!
From the looser groups, you answered
station 1 correctly, what did you do?
Since the two integers have the same sign,
then we just simply add the two given and
copy the sign as well.

Very good!
How about in station 3, how did you
come up to the correct answer?
Yes, from Group Neutral!
Since they have unlike signs, we
performed subtraction even though it is
addition because the bigger integer has
negative sign. And so copy the sign of the
higher integer.
Very good!

Group Neutral, what did you to solve

the given problem in station 4?
We multiply the number ma’am then, we
had negative sign before our answer since
the given integers are of unlike signs.
But, what if the two given integers are
of the same sign?
Ma’am, we will simply copy the sign
itself.
Good! But what if the two given
integers are of the same sign and both
are negative? Are you going to simply
copy the sign?
No Ma’am, instead we will write positive
sign.
Ok, very good Group -3.

How about the question in station 2,

how did you come up with the right
answer Group -1?
Ma’am we simply divided the two
numbers then, wrote negative before our
answer since the two integers are having
unlike signs.
Good job! But, what if they have like
sign which is negative?
Ma’am the answer would be a positive
integer because just like in multiplication
we will simply write positive sign before a
number.
Yes, good strategy!

To further discuss the activity

I have here another video
presentation.

(Power Point Presentation)

(The students will watch the video
presentation)

Now that the lesson is clear to all, I

have here another activity entitled
“Complete Me”. Same grouping
class.
Did you enjoy the activity class?
Yes Ma’am!
Congratulations to the winner, Group
neutral.
What did you do class to answer each
question in every level?
Ma’am we supply integers in each line.
Good strategy class!

E. Performance

Now that everything seems clear, get

one-half sheet of paper.
(Students will get one-half sheet of paper)

Class, the title for our activity this

time is “Are You Smarter Than ?th
Grader“

Are you done?

Yes Ma’am!
Ok let us check your work.
Who wants to solve number 1?
(Ana will raise her hand)

Yes Ana!
8 days.

Number 2?
Yes Paul!
4/7.
Ok, next number?
Yes John!
4.
Number four, John Paul!
$1.92.
Number 5, Paul John!
20.
Who wants to answer number 6?
Yes PJ!
600 pounds.
Number 7, JP!
$8.75.
Number 8, Pia!
30 students.
Number 9, Piaget!
300 people.
Last number, Vygotsky!
24.

Ok, who got a perfect score?

(Most of the students raise their hands)

Very good class!

F. Assignment

Now for your assignment class

research about System of Linear
Equation. It could be a video or a
power point presentation. This
assignment will be presented by
group next meeting. Your group
during the activity will be the same in
this assignment.

Goodbye class!
Goodbye Ma’am!
