Example: Choosing What to Eat
1. Q: What is the decision to be made?
A: What should I eat for lunch today?

2. Q: What are some possible choices?


A: Come up with three possible choices.

3. Q: What are some pros and cons of each choice?


A: For each of the three choices you came up with in step 2, list at least one pro (good
thing) and one con (bad thing) about each choice.

4. Q: Which choice are you picking, and why?


A: Pick one of the choices you came up with in step 2, and explain why you picked it.

5. Q: What happened/what do you think will happen as a result of your decison?


A: Make a prediction about what will happen as a result of your decision OR explain
what did happen as a result of your decision, and whether you would choose that decision again.

Pair Practice Activity
• You and your partner will receive a scenario slip at random.
The scenarios are common situations that teens often
encounter.
• With your partner, on the give worksheet, plan out the
decision that needs to be made in this scenario.
• You will have about 15 minutes for this activity. When you
are finished, Ms. Bothell has an individual practice for you
as well. Keep the individual practice in your binder.
• Return your slip to Ms. Bothell at the end of the activity so
that another class can use them.
• Turn in your pair practice activity worksheet to your class
folder at the end of the period.
