LOCATION
HAZARD
• A hazard is an agent which has the potential to cause harm to a
vulnerable target. ... Risk is defined as the probability that
exposure to hazard will lead to a negative consequence, or
more simply, a hazard poses no risk if there is no exposure to
that hazard.
• Types of Hazard
• Physical
• Chemical
• Biological
TYPES OF HAZARD
• Physical – Slippery floors, objects in walkways, unsafe or
misused machinery, excessive noise, poor lighting, fire.
• Chemical – Gases, dusts, fumes, vapours and liquids.
• Ergonomic – poor design of equipment, workstation design,
(postural) or workflow, manual handling, repetitive moveme
• STANDARD PENETRATION TEST
• The test is extremely useful for determining the relative density
and the angle of shearing resistance of cohesionless soils. It can
also be used to determine the unconfined compressive strength
of cohesive soils

Types of Vibrater
• Produced in the interior of the concrete using Nedle
vibrator.
• Produced in concrete by vibrating formwork using Shutter
form vibrators.
• Produced on the surface of concrete using Surface
vibrators.
• Produced in the entire concrete mass using Vibrating
table.

• Compacter.
• Vehicle.
• Formwork.
• Vibrator.
• Scabefolding.
• Pal finger.
• Damfer.
• JCV.
BOOM PRESSURE
• It is known as a boom concrete pump because it uses a
remote-controlled articulating robotic arm (called a boom) to
place concrete accurately. Boom pumps are used on most of
the larger construction projects as they are capable of pumping
at very high volumes and because of the labour saving nature
of the placing boom.
BATCHING PLANT
• A concrete plant, also known as a batch plant or batching
plant or a concrete batching plant, is equipment that
combines various ingredients to form concrete. Some of these
inputs include water, air, admixtures, sand, aggregate (rocks,
gravel, etc.), fly ash, silica fume, slag, and cement.
TRANSIT MIXER
• Transit mixer is a piece of equipment that is used for
transporting concrete/ mortar or ready mix material from a
concrete batching plant directly to the site where it is to be
utilized. ... Concrete mixing drum ensures the liquid state of
materials through rotation of the drum about its own axis.
Pever
• A paver (paver finisher, asphalt finisher, paving machine) is a piece
of construction equipment used to lay asphalt on roads, bridges,
parking lots and other such places. It lays the asphalt flat and
provides minor compaction before it is compacted by a roller.
COMPACTER
• A road roller is a compactor-type engineering vehicle used to
compact soil, gravel, concrete, or asphalt in the construction of
roads and foundations. Similar rollers are used also at landfills
or in agriculture. Road rollers are frequently referred to as
steamrollers, regardless of their method of propulsion.
Safety equipment ( Ppe)
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Safetyy Helmet
1. Safety Shoes.
2. .Safety Gloves.
3. Safety Jacket .
4. Safetyty Glasses.
5. Nose Mask.
6. Ear plug.
7. Safety Belt.
SAFETY SHOSE
• Safety shoes should be worn by all of the construction personnel at
the worksite to protect their feet for possible injuries. The safety
shoes to be used shall be determined according to potential hazards
and according to the nature of work. It shall comply with the safety
standard and specification. For worksite safety shoes with steel toe
cap covering and steel sole should be considered, although an
equivalent material is also acceptable as long as it follows the safety
standards. If the personnel is working in electrical installation, non-
contractive footwear shall be used.
• Refer to the below images for the recommended safety shoes that
are approved by safety international standards. Select each photo
for the product description
•
SAFETY JACKET
• Every construction personnel should wear adequate and
suitable protective clothing to protect them from possible hazard
due to weather changes, electricity, impacts, and other risks.
For Site Engineers a reflected vest is recommended to maintain
visibility when doing site inspections and other site activities.
• Refer to the below images for the recommended reflected vests
that are approved by safety international standards. Select the
images for the product details.
•
SAFETY GLOVES
• All personnel handling rough, sharp and excessive coarse
material such as reinforcement bars, rods, pre-cast concrete,
toxic, electric and hot materials shall be protected by safety
gloves. The material of these hand protections shall be suitable
against the hazard of doing such activities. Site employees shall
be protected by the different type of gloves according to their
job description. For example, chrome leather gloves should be
used when handling sandblasting and other materials. Gloves
that are made of fabrics are used for handling rough materials.
Insulated rubber gloves should be used by electricians.
• The different types of safety gloves are available in the market.
Refer to the images below for more.
SAFETY BELTS
• Site employees working at an elevated level to about 2m or
more shall be provided by safety harness or belts to protect
them from accidental fall. Anchorage point of the safety harness
shall be placed above the head of the worker and not less than
5 meters from the ground level. This point should be strong
enough to carry a force of not less than 5000 pounds (2275kg).
The material should be made of nylon or equivalent to at least
1cm thick. The hooks attached should be fitted with a double
locking device that can be open only by pressing the two parts
at the same time for safety purposes.
• The approved material for safety belts/safety harness is
available below. Select the photo for full description.

CONCRETE SLUMP TEST
Procedure for Concrete Slump Cone Test
1.Clean the internal surface of the mould and apply oil.
2.Place the mould on a smooth horizontal non- porous base plate.
3.Fill the mould with the prepared concrete mix in 4 approximately
equal layers.
4.Tamp each layer with 25 strokes of the rounded end of the tamping
rod in a uniform manner over the cross section of the mould. For the
subsequent layers, the tamping should penetrate into the underlying
layer.
5.Remove the excess concrete and level the surface with a trowel.
6.Clean away the mortar or water leaked out between the mould and
the base plate.
7.Raise the mould from the concrete immediately and slowly in
vertical direction.
8.Measure the slump as the difference between the height of the
mould and that of height point of the specimen being tested.

PILE HEAD CHIPPING
SONIC TEST
• In the Sonic test, the top of the pile is tapped with a lightweight
plastic hammer and the reflected wave are recorded by a
suitable computerized equipment. From the resulting signal, or
reflectogram, one can determine both length and continuity of
the pile.

CONREATE TEMPRETURE TEST
The Inspector should determine and record the concrete
temperature at time of placement. Unless
the Special Provisions for the Contract provide otherwise, the
concrete temperature requirement is
in the range of 10 to 30°C (50 to 90°F) per Mn/DOT Specification
2461.4A3. The Certificate of
Compliance provides a space for the concrete temperature and air
temperature.

•Fill the concrete to the mould with the help of vibrator for thorough
compaction
•Finish the top of the concrete by trowel & tapped well till the
cement slurry comes to the top of the cubes.

BOOM PLEASER
• Concrete is the basic material for the buildings and construction
works. Although preparation of readymix concrete has already
become a "conventional process", recent developments in pumping
and placing technics help to speed up the termination of the whole
process. The role of ATABEY is to develop "user friendly products" for
various cases."
