In todays competitive world, Organisations are looking for candidates who have
the positive attitude, fire of enthusiasm, ability and keenness to learn, good team
skills, ability to think Big and grow in the organsiation.

In a global village, selecting the right people at the reasonable cost is the key to
success in any interview. An Interview is focussed, goal-oriented exchange of
information between two or more people.

Goal of
Every Interviewer : Uncover a clear picture of a candidate’s past
acompolishments and his future potential.
Every Interiewee : Convince that they are well equipped. ( Sills, Experience,
Potential etcc.. )

Steps to Succeed In Interviews

• On the day of interview

Before the Interview ( Preparation Pays )

Good preparation before the interview leads to predictable results. The more you
can sell yourself in the interview, the better are your chances of success.

The key to succeed in an interview is preparation and it should include the


following :
1. Know Yourself
( Self-assessment – Strengths, Weakness, Skills, abilities, accomplishments,
Problem solving skills etc.. )
2. Know the organisation
Gathering information about the company beforehand will certainly help you
in making a positive impact in the interview.
( Gather information like History, Size of the organisation, Products, Services,
Growth, Carreer paths, Geographic locations etc… )
3. Know Potential Job ( Know job-profile, understand organisation chart )
4. Match yourself to the job. ( Ask questions how you macth up to the job ? )
What does this job involve and what will be expected from me ?
Do I have the kind of experience they are looking for ?
What skills are they looking for and do I have those skills ?
How can I contribute to the growth and success of the organsisation ?
5. Find out in avance how to get to the interview venue.

Your resume is your personal representative and makes a great first


impression.
Your appearnce really makes a lot of difference.

On the day of Interview


The following tips will be helpful on the day of interview
a. Be punctual and polite with everyone you meet
b. If you are late, inform
c. Have a checklist before going for an interview
( Call letter, Original testimonials, Application, Photos, Pay slip, Plain
Paper, Reading Material etc… )
d. Always dress smartly & Comfortably
e. Have a balanced approach. ( Know what to say and what not to say )
f. Be positive and enthusiastic
g. Listen carefully to the questions
h. Keep your answers informative, but not too long
i. Think about what you say ( Challenge. What Challenge ? )
j. Think about questions in advance
k. Maintain a proper body language ( Posture, Tone of voice, Gestures etc.. )
l. Candidates must be prepared to ask questions too.

Having a certificate is important, but more important is to develop your


personality and uniqueness.

Interview follow-up ( Analyse your interview performance )


Tips :
a. Analyse before the impressions and memories fade.
b. Don’t be too eager at the end of the interview. Leave with a pleasant smile
on your face.
c. Use each failure as feedback for constant progress towards your success.
d. Writing a thank you letter shows that you are courteous and makes you
stand out among the candidates.

Rather than getting ahead of others, it is important to get ahead of ourself


and break our own self-record ofr success.
