Packing List-2020/21

Below is the list of items which we recommend students to go through before


they buy and pack for their study duration in Germany. To encourage traveling
light, the price for the items is also compared. Of course it is not a mandatory list
but a guide to make it easier to shop.

The special list in the blue table below is for the quarantine 14 days stay. It is of
high importance and mandatory that these items must be brought by the students
and do not compromise them for list of longer stay.

In general, technical books in Germany are very expensive (usually starting from 20€). You can use the university's
library for free, and you will find all the books you need (Usually in several copies). But if you prefer to have
your own books for studying check your curriculum and bring accordingly.

MEDICINES

Make sure you get prescription of every Medicine you bring. German health insurance will cover
most medication prescribed by a doctor. You will still have to cover a part of 10€ yourself. For most of you
it will be cheaper to stock up on the medication you usually use during one year at home.

Sports

H-da has membership in Sport Arena where you can play without paying any money. You can play
Badminton, TT. H- da in Dieburg has gym and Swimming pool also. There are cricket matches that are also
conducted. So if you’re interested get your Sport apparels and bats. We suggest bringing your own
swimming glasses and suits if you like swimming. You can also by it here starting from 15€.

Important:
 Carry additional face masks.
 International Drivers Permit, if you want to rent a car
 Visit to your dentist, eye doctor is recommended. Consult your family doctor
 Attach luggage tags to both your carry on and checked luggage for easy identification and for
security purposes. You can even paste stickers instead of tag.
 Write down and keep handy, important contact numbers, and your Tutors number (Better in a sheet
of paper , along within mobiles)
 Enough charge and currency for international calls
 Activate International Roaming, if you want to your national SIM card for OTP purposes.
 Liquid cash in notes and coins for travel expenses or emergency.
 Be extra cautious about the documents, passport, visa and other valuables during and after the
travel.
