Defect Recording and Notification Process:

 Sample Demonstration of the Defect recording and notification process in Quality


Management

Pre-Requisite Master data setup:

1. Master Inspection Characteristics:

Create an MIC -

Control Indicators – selection “Defects Recording” Checked


Quantitative Data – Upper limit and lower limit specified.
2. Material Masters QM View:

Enable the Inspection Type.

In this case as an example had activated 89 for demonstration purposes.

3. Inspection Plan:

Create an Inspection Plan


Material Assigned to the Inspection Plan

Operations > Inspection Chars

Assign the MIC (created) and Sampling procedure  in the InspectionPlan > Operations

Save.
4. Inspection Lot Generation:

Generating the inspection lot for 89 manually for the scenario execution.
Inspection Lot created.

5. Result Recording

Perform the result recording for the inspection.

We are doing a negative case here to record the defects and raise notification.
Input a value out of specification limit, say 12 for example.

Press enter

An defect overview – popup is visible automatically


NOTE:-

If you enter a valid specification falling within the range the system would accept and would not
provide you a defect overview popup option. Please see the below screenshot.

Lets continue with defect recording and notification- process


Select the code group of defect.

Click continue
Click on activate notification , then process notification.

Creation notification screen displays

You see the items in the notification with reference to the inspection lot
Click Put inprocess

You will see the status of Noticiaiton as NOPR

Add a Task to replace the part for example.


System prompting to enter partner, you can add multiple partner if you want.

Click continue and save


A notification is generated with reference to the inspection lot result recording.

Now we can process the notification tasks


Lets do the task and activities

Release the tasks

Complete the tasks


Successful the task.
We can specify the activies that have been performed.
Saved

Click Complete

Continue
Notificaiton Complete.
