Dear Human Resources Department

I am excited to be applying for Ayala Property Management Corporation (APMC). My degree emphasis
is in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and I have already completed 75% of my major’s
requirements. Given the skills and experience outlined in my enclosed resume, I am confident that I
will be a worthy asset to your team.

In my five years at University of the Philippines, I learned a great deal in problem solving. Our
professors only teach us the theories and needed skills in solving. And in the exams, we are supposed
to apply these in order to solve a practical problem. All of my major subjects teach this way. It pushed
me to think outside the box on how to apply what I know, and when to apply them. It has made me a
creative problem solver, at the same time an efficient one.

For two years now, I am a student with a full-time job. Completing my coursework while working has
taught me how to manage my time properly because my students’ exams often coincide with mine.
My time management skills are an asset based on the fact that I excel in both my academics,
maintaining an above 2.0 GWA, and work. My job as a tutor and secretary at a tutorial center has
trained me to multitask and to work quick and efficiently. My students usually just surprise me with
their new topics for the upcoming exams. The minute they tell me about the new topics, I start to
work on making materials such as worksheets and reviewers, while I’m teaching them. My dedication
to my work can be seen on my students’ improvements. I work with students who can now get a B+
on those subjects they failed before going to tutor. And all that improvement in just a few months.

With my job and my membership in UP Astronomical Society, I already know how to work in a
professional environment, and how to work with the other employees.

With these skills and academic background, coupled with my enthusiasm and dedication to achieving
success, I believe I could swiftly exceed your expectations as your next Intern. I look forward to
discussing this opportunity in detail.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Caryl Anne Balbas
