THE PROBLEM
Statement of the Problems
This study primarily identified the level of work motivation and performance of teachers
in the Department of Education Division of Negros Oriental. It focused on their work
motivators, work values and problems affecting their work and the relationship between the
variables and the performance of the respondents.
The study aims to answer the following questions:
1) What is the profile of the of the government employees in the Department of Education
Division of Negros Oriental in terms of:
1.1 sex,
1.2 age,
1.3 civil status,
1.4 highest educational degree obtained,
1.5 gross monthly salary,
1.6 years of working experience, and
1.7 performance rating?
2) To what extent is the performance of employees affected by the following work
motivators:
2.1 recognition,
2.2 achievement,
2.3 nature of work,
2.4 supervision,
2.5 interpersonal relations,
2.6 job security, and
2.7 salary
3) To what extent is the performance of employees affected by the following work values:
3.1 self-awareness,
3.2 leadership,
3.3 affection,
3.4 recognition,
3.5 risk-taking,
3.6 responsibility,
3.7 competency,
3.8 initiative,
3.9 trust,
3.10 self-discipline,
4) To what extent is the performance of employees affected by the following problems
identified by them:
4.1 problem toward their superiors, and
4.2 problem toward their co-employees?
5) What is the Degree of relationship between work motivators and performance, and between
work values and performance?
6) Is their a significant relationship between performance and the following variables:
6.1 sex,
6.2 age,
6.3 civil status,
6.4 highest educational degree,
6.5 gross monthly salary, and
6.6 year of working experience
