Statement of Purpose

From my early childhood till today, my most remarkable characteristics have

been mycuriosity to learn new topics. My keen interest for learning new ideas,
when combinedwith my inner desire to reach a degree of excellence in every
piece of work I
perform,e n a b l e d m e t o a c q u i r e s i g n i f i c a n t k n o w l e d g e o n v a r
i o u s a s p e c t s o f n a t u r e a n d technology, as well as leading me through
a successful educational career.During my early ages in school, I was
introduced to ‘BASIC’ language and on
howc o m p u t e r s c a n b e u s e d a n d
p r o g r a m m e d . F r o m t h e n , I became fascinated aboutcomputers and th
eir programming.A f t e r I e n t e r e d t h e H i g h S c h o o l , I w a s
m a d e known with languages like ‘C’ and ‘HTML’ on my personal
interest. In my secondyear of High School, I made a laboratory
demonstration, in ‘ABC’s Vision' 2002,about Computer Languages and
gave lecture on it to my fellows.C o n s e q u e n t l y , I t o o k p a r t i n a
d i s c u s s i o n g r o u p ( C o m p u t e r C l u b ) o f s e n i o r h i g h school students
and schoolteachers who motivated me to select computer science asmy
career. Personal satisfaction also plays a key role in my career
decision. I enjoyacquiring new skills and information, which help me to
adapt to the fast-changingw o r l d , a s w e l l a s p i q u e m y i n t e r e s t i n
innovation. In addition, a career with openprospects would give
me constant incentive to improve myself and to gain
m o r e knowledge.The first year lectures of my undergraduate were about
freshman courses which I wasalready familiar with, however,
in consequent years, the versatility and facile
natureo f C o m p u t e r s m a d e i t e v e n m o r e i n t e r e s t i n g a n d r e a l l y
l e f t m e s p e l l b o u n d a n d enthralled. This solidified my interest in
Computer science and exposed me to theenormous potential of this
developing field. As the depth of studying about computersincreased, it helps me
to widen my background in various concepts. I also paid specialattention to vital
subjects I would deal with in my professional life.Besides theoretical work, I
gained practical knowledge in Computer Science throughinternships and various
project works. My first hands-on experience was in ABCD. of ‘Government of
India’ which is the most outstanding telecommunications companyand
ISP in India. After then, I performed my second practical experience in
EFG. of ‘Government of Tamilnadu’. Furthermore, I took project
works on various softwarefields. Currently, I am doing project work for ABC
University
(ABC.).T h e s e e x p e r i e n c e s w e r e i n v a l u a b l e f o r m e s i n c e I l e a r n e d
t h e s e r v i c e a b i l i t y a n d functionality of various real world applications.
There I grasped the application of computer technologies in various
sections. Working in such an outstanding places
broadened my vision of Computer Science and how diverse its developmental
stagesbe.As well as the coursework and practical experience, I try
to follow the technologicalinnovations and new design techniques by reading
technical periodicals and
attendingv a r i o u s s e m i n a r s & c o n f e r e n c e s . A l s o , I n o r d e r t o
a c q u i r e k n o w l e d g e o n t h i s widespread technology, I familiarized myself
on them through variety of certificationcourses.Aside from the academic life, I like
to participate in the social club (Rotaract club) of the college. These social
activities have improved my interpersonal skills and enabledme to appreciate
the value of how precious it is to participate in an activity
whosemembers come from different backgrounds. Furthermore, I am
very keen on givingprivate lectures to sophomore year students to help them
in understanding courses andin forming
careers.M y u l t i m a t e g o a l i n m y c a r e e r i s t o m a k e a c o m m e n
d a b l e c o n t r i b u t i o n t o t h e computing world either by starting an
innovative venture or doing research whichw o u l d c h a n g e t h e
dimensions of future computing and the way we perceive
t h e computers. Now I have determined that a dedicated study
on Computer Science willenable me to aggregate all my previous
knowledge & experience on the field andencourage in achieving my career
goal. I am confident that my academic records andpractical knowledge
combined with my eagerness to do research exhibit thep e r s e v e r a n c e
and zeal required to pursue a Master’s
D e g r e e i n y o u r r e p u t e d university.After obtaining my M. S. degree in
Computer Science, I plan to pursue Ph. D studiesThis M. S. Degree would be
able to make myself more knowledgeable & technicallyadvanced than my current
peers. It would make me better suited to go in for research.Moreover, the
technical challenges encountered in the graduate program will providemotivation
and opportunity for methodological innovation.My coursework along with my
extensive Computer science background will allow meto function well within
the graduate program. I have many ambitions for myself as Iembark on
this stage of my life. I believe that a graduate study will provide milestonei n m y
career along with invaluable experiences and skills that will
a l l o w m e t o become a successful, innovative professional and gives
assistance to accomplish mygoals.
