•Look at the objectives
For each objective, try to satisfy it. If it says explain,
then explain. If it say’s give examples, do that.
•Hierarchal ideas
As you read, write down major ideas. Then provide
examples (these are key) used in the book or even
better, examples that you come up with that relate to
you.

1. With the exception of vocabulary terms,
TAKE NOTES IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
This will help you remember and understand
ideas.
2. Include examples for every major concept.
You will need to do this in your essays.
3. Skip a lot of space between major ideas so
that you can fill in information from lectures.

• Bring your key name sheet with you to
class every day.
• Study your key name sheet when preparing
for your unit tests.
• Keep your key name sheet all year. It will
be collected and is worth BIG points in the
spring.
