FIRST TEST (Ver 2.0)

This document provides instructions and questions for a signal processing exam. It includes questions about sketching time and discrete time signals, determining periodicity, finding even and odd parts of functions, and other signal processing concepts. The exam is for a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics programme, taught by Associate Professor Dr. Nasri Sulaiman, and takes place on November 19, 2021 from 8:00-9:00 am. Students must choose 6 questions from the list provided and show their work in the answer booklet, providing their name, student ID number, seat number, programme, and signature.

(a) g(t) = 2t2 − 3t + 6
(b) g(t) = 20cos(40t − /4)
(c) g(t) = t(2 − t2)(1+ 4t2)

Question 3
Determine whether or not the following signals are periodic. In case a signal is periodic,
specify the fundamental frequency.
(a) x(t) = 10cos(50t + /6)
(b) x(t) = cos(50t) + sin(15t)

Sketch the following discrete time signals..

(a) g[-n]
(b) g[2 - n]
(c) g[2n]

Question 5
Find the fundamental period of each of these functions.
(a) g[n] = cos(2n/10)
(b) g[n] = 2cos(9n/4) − 3sin(6n/5)

Question 6
Find the even and odd parts of the function.
(a) g[n] = u[n] - u[n − 4]
(b) g[n] = sin(2n/7)(1 + n2).
