The TED talk I have selected is based on the topic, What the discovery of gravitational waves

means? And this wonderful speech was presented by Allan Adams. I do not know much about
his past so I’ll try my best to be straight to the point.
As far as the rubric is concerned, I came up with a report in which I have critically analyzed his
speech. So, if I speak of his appearance I’ll give him 3/5, firstly because he seemed too casual
to me for this job. He was not wearing a suit which is perfectly ok when you watch the other
speakers in the TED talks doing the same. His shirt was properly pressed but it was not tucked in
which gave a slightly informal touch to his appearance. He had short hair, so I won’t comment
on that because I don’t know much about short hair hairstyles.
For the facial expressions I gave him 5/5. His facial expressions were very good, he seemed to
be enjoying what he was doing. A slight smile and appropriate expressions made him look
interesting.
For Eye contact I have given him 5/5. That is because he was very frequently looking towards
his audience. He tried to keep the audience engaged.
For the Posture I only gave him 3/5 that’s because he didn’t stand still for a single second which
is not a very formal way of presenting. He seemed more like a teacher to me rather than a
speaker.
He made gestures according to his speech which is good. Proper movement of hands, like they
were at some distance from his chest which showed how confident and easy he was in front of
the audience. But on some instances, I could see excessive use of gesture which was not
expected of him and for that I gave him 4/5.
For the movement I gave him 4/5. He showed very positive response towards this part. But some
excessive movement was observed while he was presenting.
