1. There are many varieties to back up your phone.

You can use your personal computer,

cloud backup, or even using external memory card.

Example from my Huawei device (might differ to some other devices)

• External memory- first, for external memory. Prepare an SD card that has capacity from
16gb and above. After that, select every data that you want to back up and wait for the progress
to complete the process of back up.

• Desktop back up (hisuite only for Huawei)- Second, if you want to back up more
efficiently like in your computers, there is a specific software for your desktop to back up your
data in your smartphone. First, use a micro usb connector and connect it on your phone to pc.
Second, download the Hisuite* (for Huawei only) and read the instruction on how to pair both
devices. Lastly, select and back up your necessary data’s that you want to put in your phone.
• Cloud Backup- Last but not the least, Cloud back up. It is the one that stores your data
from servers online. One of the best examples are Google drive, Mega.nz, dropbox, etc…
But for my, cloud that already built-in in my smartphone. You can use to store data automatically
or manually to its limit. The very first way to do is by signing your account in your smartphone
and look for the cloud backup. Cloud usually automatically stores your all data however there is
a limit space to store. This will help to automatically restore your data if you are trying to reset of
format the phone.
2. One thing that I usually store to backup are my contact lists, gallery, and files. These
three are the one that has sentimental and one of my needs to my daily life. Example,
Contact lists help me to stay all my friends’ number and save them so I can still connect
with them through those numbers. Gallery gave sentimental values and importance to
the memories that I captured and show it to my future self the importance of me being
me in the past. Lastly, Files such as documents, random things that I downloaded or
even some educational attachments that might help me in the future.

3. Things that I excluded in my backups are calendar, notes, and messages.

I do not usually mark something important in my calendar, so it is quite fine and also in
notes. I do not put something necessary in my notes that will benefit me to store them, I
usually use real life notes. Lastly, messages. Messages might seem important to me,
but I did not put it in my backup list due to spam messages and unnecessary messages
from my sim providers.

4. The most recommended and efficient way to backup my files is weekly. Weekly
backups. Weekly backups don’t cost too much data if you aren’t using Wi-Fi and only
requires in clouds. But, if ever you are using external backup. It is much better to
backup it everyday for secure and insured sudden damage to your device.
