Portfolio Artifact Description: Create a Student Council Election database in Google Form
What you learned/overcame: I have never used Google Form before, nor did I really know it
existed. I had to learn where everything was and how to use it, but it is a fairly simple set up, so
it was quick and easy to learn where what I needed was, and how to do it.
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NETS)•S Addressed:
Standard #5: Computational Thinker: 5b: Students collect data or identify relevant data sets, use
digital tools to analyze them, and represent data in various ways to facilitate problem-solving and
decision-making.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I think this is a particularly good way to avoid
having to make and count things like ballots and other questionnaires. This would be good for
just in a classroom, or school wide. It is an easy way to create the questions you need and see the
answers organized. Either the teachers can use it, or students can use it, it is easy enough for
both. It wouldn’t be a difficult program for students to get the hang of and can be combined with
spreadsheet projects as well. Overall, it is really helpful to know is out there and how to use.
