EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This study is structured as a series of chapters: Chapter I, Introduction,

Background of the Study, Rationale, Statement of the Problem, Conceptual
Framework, Framework of the Study, Scope and Limitation of the Study,
Significance of the Study, and the Definition of Terms; Chapter II, Research
Design, Research Locale, Respondents, and Sources and Methods of Collecting
Data; Chapter III, General Business Condition, Production Processes and Step-
by-step procedures, Workflow of the process, Product Description, Plant Location,
Plant Layout; Chapter IV, Description and Outlook of the Industry, Size of the
Industry, Target Market, Market Segmentation, Demand Study, Marketing and
Sales Strategies, Detailed Product and the 4P’s; Chapter V, the Financial Study of
the business.

The Feasibility Study report discusses the consequential matters that have
an ardent relatedness with Better Blends Partnership. The Better Blends is a
leader in the sales of fruit smoothies and light snacks throughout the Municipality
of Maasim. Better Blends’ products are sold from only at the main store throughout
the municipality and maintain a reputation for superior taste and quality. The Better
Blends property is located in Maasim, Sarangani Province on the roadside near
7/11 shop, approximately 10-20 footsteps away. While Better Blends has a
website, it has the capability of hosting products for online sales. The variety of
flavors of fruit smoothies and confections marketplace is healthy and safe and
delineating a continued growth trajectory over the next five to ten years.

In order to be successful, Better Blends must differentiate itself from

competitors in order to appeal to customers in the online marketplace. To do this,
Better Blends will utilize its practice of personalizing its product packaging which it
currently offers in-store customers. Better Blends will also maintain a customer
database in order to determine its target customer groups and geographical areas.
Another consequential consideration of Better Blends’ online marketing strategy is

xi
cost. Electronic marketing communication costs are very small in comparison to
direct sell marketing which Better Blends currently utilizes. However, we expect
additional revenue from online sales to greatly outweigh these additional electronic
marketing costs. It is necessary to opine that Better Blends’ current marketing and
sales staff will require training in online marketing and sales practices. This training
will need to be contracted to a training provider as part of our startup costs and
schedule.

There are no proposed changes to Better Blend’s current product offerings as a

result of this study. Direct Sales will include only current products and any changes
to this product line must be considered outside of the purpose of this document.
Better Blends will distribute online purchases via direct shipping from the nearest
store location. This will allow Better Blends to provide timely shipping and eliminate
the need for a central warehouse or facility from which to store and ship its
products. Better Blends is in a position to capitalize on this online marketplace by
leveraging existing technologies, industry best practices, and aggressive
marketing and sales campaign to ramp up the company’s growth projections for
the foreseeable future.

Chapter I

Introduction

Sometimes a full-scale study cannot be justified because there are too

many unknowns, or because of a critical piece of information is lacking.
In such circumstances, a feasibility study may be warranted and undertaken
before the real work to determine whether to proceed with a project and decide the
best approach to adopt. Feasibility studies can be extremely important in reducing
uncertainties for planning the definitive study, and often provide assurance to
funding bodies that the work has been thoroughly conceptualized.
Our business Better Blend Smoothie Bar have the vision of providing fun,
deliciously appetizing, uniquely enchanting food and beverage products while
maintaining our commitment to uncompromised quality at economical rates with a
heartening purpose to cater to society’s needs, tastes, and preferences rather than
simply convincing our customers to try and like whatever products we develop.
There are specific nutritional fruits that we are going to use as a main flavors
of smoothies such as mango, banana, melon, and pineapple. This is why we
develop something that will help customers satisfy their needs and wants. Better
Blend Fruit Smoothies keeps our body healthy, inside and out.
Developing a new product for the public is never an easy undertaking. The
number of new products that make it is insignificant to the total numbers that are
produced. We as students believed we have found one of those products that will
make an impact and ultimately be successful in a smoothie. The healthy smoothie
will provide our customers with an almost endless amount of healthy alternatives
to the other drinks. This information will provide sales, costs, profits, markets,
competitors, distribution, and the macro environment balance.
The healthy fruit smoothie will promise you, customers, to provide the
quality, reasonably priced product in the industry. We aim to continuously generate
awareness, interest, and desire for our product, resulting in frequent purchases by
the customers.
A tropical and nutritional variety of blended fruit smoothies are our
advertency. For this trademark conceptualization that we regularized to continue
to exist as time passes and to remain alive to linger the interest of the buyers and
also the consumers with our well-thought and our very own version of Better Blend
Fruit Smoothies. We would like to present and bring-in for the first time, the variety
of flavours that consumers would not normally taste. Thus, we would like to
sensationalize and put forward for the nutritional intention of mango, melon,
pineapple, and banana fruit smoothie flavor.
Nowadays, millennial would choose an artificially made fruit smoothie
product that has a less healthy nutritional content over the prevalent fruit smoothies
that is said to be “good for health” that is available in the market. Promoting a
convenient way of drinking by introducing varieties of Better Blend to the public
consumers would also benefit not just the consumers with its health nutrition
content but also helps the Filipino street fruit vendors and fruit farmers in the
country as well.

Background of the Study

Better Blends Fruit Smoothie Bar has a delightful and pretty mild taste, not
too sweet but just perfect appeal with the consumers’ taste buds. It is made from
fresh fruits specifically, pineapple, mango, melon, and banana, milk rich in protein,
calcium, vitamin A & D and phosphorus, and sweetened toppings and fillings. Our
product will offer numerous benefits that are good for the body and will cater to the
ever-increasing demand for healthy food and beverage choice, diet, and losing
weight.
Taking fruits regularly can boost health. Pineapples are among the most
popular fruits and incredibly nutritious. It contains a high amount of fiber, vitamin
C, potassium and vitamin K. Studies suggest that the antioxidants in pineapple can

2
promote heart health and reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes, cancer, and
Alzheimer’s. Pineapples have pectin content and are prebiotic fiber that feeds the
good bacteria in our stomach and helps improve digestion and metabolic health.
Mango is an excellent source of vitamin C. It also contain soluble fiber, which can
provide many health benefits. Mango has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
properties that may help reduce the risk of disease. Banana is well known for being
high in potassium. Banana has its unique property which is carb makeup which
may improve blood sugar control and make you feel full. Studies have shown that
the high carb and mineral content of bananas make them a great source of fuel
before exercise.
Evaporated Milk and Condensed Milk are both beneficial to one’s health
and which are also the ingredients of Better Blend smoothie products that offers
the goodness of milk and intensify its rich in protein, calcium, vitamin A & D and
phosphorus based on its nutritional facts of a specific brand.
We use the chocolate syrup as one of our toppings and fillings as it could
help to prevent heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduces the risk of
Alzheimer’s, boosts overall mood, increases levels of good cholesterol, lowers the
risk of good cholesterol, and lowers the risk of skin cancer. We also use Graham
biscuit powder as one of our toppings and fillings as it balance the taste to a mango
smoothie and very good for constipation and for those who are diabetic. And we
also use chocolate rainbow sprinkles because it contains carbs and is higher than
fats and zero sodium.
We make this product proposal for the purpose that we want to serve our
valued customers in new product beverages and to cater them healthy fruit
smoothies for millennial and adults which could find their enjoyment. We add
special ingredients for our product such as mango, pineapple, melon, and the
banana. Further, we would like to put forward and offer variety of flavours that
consumers would not normally taste of an ordinary fruit smoothie.

3
Nowadays, millennial chooses an organic and artificially made refreshing
fruit smoothie products that have a less healthy nutritional content over the
pervasive fruit smoothie products that are said to be “best for healthy lifestyle” that
is available in the market. Promoting a healthy and convenient way of drinking by
introducing variety of Better Blend Fruit Smoothies to the public consumers could
be the beneficiary with its nutritional content and helps the Filipino fruit vendors
and farmers in the country. They will be encouraged to work harder as part of the
producer chain.

Rationale
The reasons why the researchers choose this kind of business because of
the reflective situation acted by millennial which are the most influential in this
generation. Selling fruit shake products is a suitable avenue to the researchers for
them to apply their learnings in the following subjects, organization and
management, principles of marketing, business finance, fundamentals of
accounting, business social responsibility, and governance. And other matters that
can relate to this study. The researchers also wanted to enhance of their
capabilities in handling a business.
In this premise, the researcher can apply their skills and marketing strategy,
particularly in developing the marketing mix or the 4P’s of marketing, which have
four elements of marketing mix; the product, price, place and promotion.
Our promotional strategies are by distributing leaflets and flyers to serve as
our instrument to persuade and to attract numbers of costumers to have their full
interest to our products. Also utilizing the internet because millennial nowadays
are hooked into online social medium platform. We will have to create a Facebook
page account which will help us in our promotion campaign more conveniently.
Lastly the location, the researchers will be going to place this business
along the roadside near the municipality hall. Since the researchers are promoting
healthy beverages, the researchers ensure that the products would not be exposed

4
to the different toxins and smoke coming from vehicles. Moreover, the business
will be operated in a safe and clean environment.

Production Process
Better Blend Procedure

“Saging-zini Ganados”

INGREDIENTS:
1kl of bananas
2 cans of evaporated milk
2 cans of condense milk
A cup of ice cubes
¼ tsp. of chocolate syrup

17
Step-by-step Procedure

Prepare the tools and equipment neatly.

The first thing to do is to wash the fruit with warm water. Followed by peeling
off the banana and make it into pieces before putting in into a specified bowl
afterward. Combine condensed milk and evaporated milk in a bowl.

Add the combined milk to the blender. This is the base of generating the
Honey Banana Smoothie. The more water in the fruits that you use, the less liquid
you need to add. Add the sliced bananas to the blender which are a great source

words, it is simple and plain but beholds the taste and nourishment it gives to the
consumers.

The study will be implemented in 6 months’ time. (Second Semester of the

school year 2019-2020)

The following activities should be followed:

➢ Monday = Distribution of flyers and leaflets.
▪ Advertisement via Facebook and other social media.

36
▪ Opening promo, buy 3 fruit shakes get one. Buy 3 fruit shakes
get one free of choice (the whole day from 7:30 to 11:45 am)

➢ Friday = French Fries day promo.

▪ Buy 2 fruit shakes get french fries free. A limited supply of
french fries lasts only.

The above-mentioned marketing and sales activities should be followed

during the implementation time. Any adjustment, if necessary can be interested.

Detailed Product
Better Blend is a fruit smoothie based product that is rich in minerals,
vitamins, and nutrients that will give the consumer a healthy way of drinking the
conventional fruit shakes that we often buy. We Filipinos are known as a fan of
drinking fruit smoothies especially in during hot summer day. Our version of fruit
smoothies has a twist and with the grace of different nutritional flavors to make it
healthier and decent for our body. Better Blend has a variety of flavors that
consumers can choose from, we have mango, apple, and banana fruit smoothies.

Competition
Businesses exist in a competitive environment. The beverages industry is
fierce in competition with each other to provide the best possible value for money
high quality and refreshing fruit smoothies, and to offer the most suitable range of
products for their customers. Competition typical fruit shakes are commonly
offered by fruit smoothie stores. They are really noteworthy about their profit and
customer satisfaction, but not into making the community health-wise. The fact that
the value of its bread is affordable yet it consist of only a few nutrients that our
body need is somewhat deceiving ourselves.

37
On the other hand, fruit are obliging in our body in handling out nutrients
that keep us going. Some consumers today are aware of their health but some are
not especially kids nowadays that most of them are not into eating fruits. And as
concerned individuals, we offer fruit smoothies that are benevolent in use and
consist of dietary from the fruits from that store our daily nutritional needs the Better
Blends.
Within a market, businesses are faced by direct competitors. These are
firms that produce the same or very similar goods. With regard to our consideration
of our competition, we consider small fruit smoothie stores because it will menace
in our business. However, most products are differentiated in some way.

The Product
Better Blend is from the word “Blend” which means to exist or to produce
through a combination and we use the fruit as a matter to be focused on and which
processed into a fruit shake. We all need full of the complement of vitamins and
minerals to keep us healthy. Alcohol takers find this easier but may also open
themselves up to health issues related to drinking too much dangerous protein. It
can be really difficult for people who are health conscious to get enough protein
and enough vitamins and minerals especially the full complement of the B vitamins
and the minerals that are suspended in animal fats. The best part of the answer
really is in a fruit smoothie.
These products bring you nature as its best – refreshing and nourishing fruit
smoothies made with a variety of 100% fruit extract. New Better Blend adds fresh
and sweet toppings and fillings and the nutrition of one full serving of fruits in every
slice.

Packaging
Packaging plays in Better Blend fruit shake a vital role as a medium in the
marketing mix, in promotional campaigns, as a pricing criterion, in defining the

38
character of new products, as a setter of trends and as an instrument to create
brand identity and shelf impact in all product groups.

➢ The Better Blends Bottle

A both take-home disposable

plastic cup and drink in that is
where we fill the fruit smoothie
product.

Marketing Strategy
The first strategy is the market penetrate. Better Blend is committed to
improving the customer experience in ways they believe few in the industry have
done.
This business plan to execute a broader marketing strategy, not simply to
build name recognition and awareness but also to build deeper and strong
relationships with the target customers whom they believe will help promote the
brand. To each target customer group, we use a mix of the following marketing
methods: social networking, and flyers. Expect to continue to increase media
impressions as they strive to build deeper relationships with their customers. We
believe marketing represents an opportunity to create additional competitive
advantage and brand awareness.

39
The next strategy is market development. The expansion into Filipino has
made them subject to people economic conditions, particularly currency exchange
rate fluctuations, and political factors, either of which could have an adverse effect
on financial condition and results of operations. If a Better Blend, expands into
other foreign markets, it will be subjected to other foreign economic conditions and
political factors including taxation.

Pricing
The price of each Better Blend smoothie products are based on the survey
conducted by the researchers. The researchers distributed survey questionnaire
with an option of prices. Each fruit shake cost from ₱ 25.00 but it will be adjusted
based on the economic condition of the country or the price of the major ingredients
of the production of the fruit smoothie products and for the transportation expense
that will affect the price of a product.
The price of Better Blend products will be dependent of the market price of
the main ingredients which is relative to the supply and demand. Any change of
the price of the Better Blend products will be taken into consideration to the factor
that measures the consumers’ capability to purchase the product.
