Verb to be
INTRODUCTION
The verb to be is one of the most used verbs in the English language. For English
as a Second Language students, the verb to be is one of the most important verbs
and also the first verb that you should learn. By using the verb to be, ESL students
can build structures related to their own personal information, for example, name,
age, nationality, profession, etc., allowing you to communicate in English with
ease.
III. Content Development
Verb to Be
The verb to be is the most irregular verb in the English language. It is normally a
linking verb showing existence or the condition of the subject. It can also be used
as an auxiliary verb when forming the passive voice.
The forms of the verb to be in English are as follows:
