The output port on the relay node has two pins. The settings of the two pins are as follows:
l If the relay node output function is enabled, the two pins are connected.
l If the relay node output function is disabled, the two pins are disconnected.
If the relay needs to provide 60 V DC or higher output, use a 24 V intermediate relay to
convert the output voltage.

Alarm Association/Reverse Alarm Association

If the alarm association function is enabled, the switch for the relay node is automatically
closed when the EMUB detects an environmental alarm. When no alarm is reported, the
switch for the relay node is automatically opened. For example, when the system is working
properly, the switch for the relay node is open by default and the alarm indicator showing the
relay status is steady off. When an alarm is detected, the EMUB software closes the switch for
the relay node, the alarm indicator becomes on, and the alarm is reported, indicating that a
fault occurs in the system.
If the reverse alarm association function is enabled, the switch for the relay node is
automatically opened when the EMUB detects an environmental alarm. When no alarm is
reported, the switch for the relay node is closed. For example, when the system is working
properly, the switch for the relay node is closed by default and the alarm indicator showing
the relay status is steady on. When an alarm is detected, the EMUB software opens the switch
for the relay node, the alarm indicator becomes off, and the alarm is reported, indicating that a
fault occurs in the system.
The following table describes the alarms corresponding to each switch for the relay node.

1.6 Commissioning the EMUB

This chapter describes how to commission an EMUB, including the power-on check,
communication check, and operating status check.

Procedure
Step 1 Perform power-on check for the EMUB.
1. Check whether the EMUB power cables, signal cables, and alarm cables are properly
connected.
2. Turn on the EMUB circuit breakers to power on the EMUB.
3. Check the status of the indicators on the EMUB to determine whether the EMUB is
working properly. If the EMUB is working properly, the RUN indicator is blinking green
(on for 1s and off for 1s), and the ALM indicator is steady off. If the status of either
indicator is abnormal, troubleshoot the faults according to the instructions in 1.7
Troubleshooting Common Faults.
Step 2 Perform the communication check for the EMUB.

l Run the MML command ADD EMU or MOD EMU to set the number of alarms for the
EMUB according to the instructions in MML Command Reference. If the number is set to
an inappropriate value, an alarm will be reported.
l If the level of an alarm of the EMUB is incorrectly configured or the upper and lower
thresholds for the number of the analog signals are set to inappropriate values, alarms may
be reported by mistakes. The following figure shows the Boolean signal levels of the water
sensor, smoke sensor, infrared sensor, and door status sensor for the EMUB when cables
are disconnected from the ports, no alarm is generated, and an alarm is generated. As listed
in the following table, water sensor, smoke sensor, infrared sensor, and door status sensor
are set to OFF, ON, OFF, and ON, respectively. After a sensor is powered on, if the sensor
is disconnected from cables and the host does not deliver the alarm level configurations for
Boolean signals within three minutes, the EMUB reports an infrared alarm and door status
alarm.
