THE SKILLS THAT AN EDUCATIONAL MANAGER NEEDS
The educational management costs to carry out the goals and objectives established in the
mission, vision and curriculum of an educational institution, therefore the educational
manager is in charge of executing those goals and objectives. As a consequence of the above,
educational management is a process that consists of the organization and use of resources,
tools, and materials that enable the established objectives to be met, where the manager plays
a leading role in directing his team towards achievement. of the objectives and goals of the
institution in continuous feedback and motivation.
However, although the motivation and feedback from an educational manager are essential
skills in meeting objectives, they are not the only skills that an educational manager needs, it
is here where we can see the purpose of this essay, which is the definition of skills. that an
educational manager needs to be able to fulfill his role of leader and fulfill the established
objectives and goals. On the other hand, to qualify an educational manager in a positive way,
he must have a mastery of personnel, an impeccable professional ethics, leadership and
shared vision, in the same way the educational manager is in a constant search for
improvement of the organization and communication of each process (if this requires it), in
addition to analyzing and evaluating with the help of its team, the causes and possible
solutions to failures in the processes and the motivation and emphasis on achievements.
Similarly, the educational manager has the ability to delegate functions large and small, as
well as to solve conflicts and to take failures or deviations in learning opportunities and to
improve. Therefore, and taking into account the above, an educational manager enables the
management and administration of resources, the establishment of the institutional structure
and organization to effectively carry out the development of study plans and programs. In the
same way, he strengthens the relations between the educational community to achieve the
established goals and objectives, in order to also facilitate the teaching-learning processes.
All this guided from the basic process that the administrative manager fulfills to obtain the
expected results, this basic process is made up of: planning, organization, direction,
coordination, execution, control and evaluation. In order to comply with each of the steps in
the process outlined above, educational managers must have the necessary skills for correct
decision-making, leadership, human resource management, organization, evaluation and
social relations to solve various problems. or conflicts that may affect the educational system.
To close the idea of the basic process and each one of its steps that the educational manager
uses to obtain and improve results, each one will be defined below: In the planning step, the
educational manager foresees situations that may arise either for or in Against the
developments that are carried out in the institution, in the organization's step the school social
body (class plans) is designed, in the direction step the educational manager is the one who
makes the institution work properly achieving the objectives and goals set out in the mission
and vision, in the coordination step the manager seeks to synchronize activities and efforts,
that is, the manager delegates activities and allows collaborative work to be carried out, in the
execution process the educational manager puts into practice the previous steps, in the control
process the educational manager with the help of his team maintains order, discipline and
coordination and p or last in the evaluation step, the educational manager, with the help of his
team, determines the efficacy, relevance, impact and efficacy of the educational activities put
into practice.
On the other hand, it must be taken into account that there is a common problem in the
administration systems of the education systems that is divided into two possible problems:
the macro administration of education and the micro administration of education. Where the
educational manager must take the educational community (students, parents, teachers,
administrators and their work team) into account in decision-making in order to achieve the
objectives and goals set and to solve the general needs that to present themselves. In this way,
it is good to explain that the Educational Manager is not necessarily an administrative of the
institution, an educational manager can be any individual belonging to the educational
community of the institution, generally educational managers, directors and administrative
are presented, but it does not mean that students and parents cannot be educational managers,
since if they have the skills that an educational manager must have, they can make the change
in the institution in which they belong.
To conclude, an educational manager must be a leader among his work group, that is,
exercise leadership, be innovative when applying any tool or strategy to obtain a positive
result in the development of each of his activities. He is also in charge of organizing,
directing and delegating functions to his work team to achieve quality work, always bearing
in mind the importance of good communication between the work team and being always
ready to solve various difficult situations that may arise in the institution.
