project History & Background study
History at
Global level (in short)
Country level (in short)

Site analysis (Basis things-topographical dwgs, site dimensions, access roads,
geographic location, North etc Also refer check list for site analysis)
Vision, aims & objectives of project
Apart from these points guides will give input time to time. Content will be finalized
by guides only. It is mandatory to discuss report write up & design with guides time
to time.
B. Arch. Research/Thesis Project
Report Along with the design solution in the form of graphic materials, the students have to submit a
comprehensive report which outlines briefly the nature of the subject, its scope, goals & objectives and
design proposal in the form of a Thesis Report, which should primarily have three divisions, the details are as
follows:
I Preliminaries Hard Cover: Students have to submit three copies of the thesis
report in a hard bound format, along with the cover
page.(Cover page will be provided late)
Certificate: The certificate has to be as per format mentioned
(annexure-1)
Acknowledgements:Studentsshouldmakeproper
acknowledgement and also sign this before submitting.
Abstract (200 to 400 words)
Contents: It records the structural pattern of the report in

List of Illustrations: The illustrations in the report (in the form of
photographs / maps / sketches / diagrams etc.) should be
placed in appropriate place, aligned properly (text & JPGs)
and should not be put together at the end of the report. The
drawings for the design proposal may however be kept at the
end in proper sequence
II The Main Body Introduction: It should have the details of the project, aims,
objectives, scope, methodology and limitations
Literature study: All the background information regarding
your project.
Data Analysis: It should analyze all the data obtained from
primary as well as secondary sources, in terms of Site analysis,
Case studies, Literature studies, Climatic / environmental
parameters, Building byelaws etc. and inference drawn. This
part of the report can be further divided into following
chapters:
Site Analysis. Relevant Codes, Standards and Bye-laws. Area
Program.
Design Proposal: It should clearly explain the basic concept
governing the design solution and then describe each aspect
in detail.
Advanced Objective(If any/guidelines)
Conclusion: It should briefly discuss the achievements of this
thesisproject carried out by the respective student
III References Bibliography: All reference books, journals, reports and other
sources of materials should be indicated in the list of selected
