Preface
Internship is the last step of a student's academic career. For a student of Business
Management it is essential for the complete understanding of the concepts learned from
formal education. There remains a huge gap between academic learning and the
implementation of that hypothetical knowledge in the practical world of modern business and
commerce. Internship can compensate this wide gap as it brings opportunities for a student to
comprehend the main trends of business activities.
In compiling this report I have intended to provide a synthesis of theoretical approaches and
methods of implementing them in the world of business. I have tried to discover the
relationship between theoretical and practical type of knowledge. I have tried to bridge the
gap between theoretical assumptions and practical necessities. During the entire course of our
academic study we remain engaged in theoretical learning where the primary objective is
academic success. A concise knowledge of the modern business arena can only be attained
through the pragmatic implementation of hypothetical ideas, which we learn from our
academic activities.
With these objectives, I have made all possible efforts and the necessary investigations to
submit this report in an enlightened form in a very short time. I have tried my level best to
eliminate errors from the report. As I had to complete my internship within a short period of
time so the study admits its limitations.

Executive Summary
The Human Resources are the most important assets of an organization. The success or
failure of an organization is largely dependent on the caliber of the people working therein.
Without positive and creative contributions from people, organizations cannot progress and
prosper.
In order to achieve the goals or the activities of the organization therefore they need to recruit
people with requisite skills, qualifications and experience while doing so, they have to keep
the present as well as the future requirements of the organization in mind.
Recruitment refers to” the process of identifying, attracting, interviewing, selecting, hiring
and onboarding employees. In other words, it involves everything from the identification of a
staffing need to filling it.”
As I m a part of the HR Consultancy so the recruitment process of the consultancy different
from the organization which are responsible for attracting candidates for jobs and matching
them to temporary or permanent positions with client companies. You'll screen candidates,
interview them, run background checks and finally match them to clients.
CHAPTER 1:
THE AREA OF INTERNSHIP AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
As an intern in Unison International Consulting I learn about recruitment process which
includes analyzing the job requirements given by the clients, sourcing, reviewing the
applications, screening, and shortlisting and giving the appropriate candidate to the client. On
the first day in Unison International Consulting we don’t know anything on the first day
because I am the first year associate though I have some theoretical knowledge of HR which
I have learnt in first year but here I got the practical exposure which was given by our
managers or team leader.
During my first day the manager gave us the training induction in which she told us about the
company that is Unison International Consulting and what are their working and on which
sectors they are dealing. Once I go through the company insights then she gave me the
different different clients likes RBL, Aditya Birla Group fashion retail, Tata Trent, Gonoise,
Yash Paper etc. And in these clients she asked me to go through all the clients and make a
record in the Excel Sheet like the Company CEO’s, who is the hr of the respective brand,
their turnover, what they are dealing in, how many stores they have, how many employees
they have etc.
Next day the manager made a meeting with us and gave us all the important information of
their clients which the company deals in and they also provide us the official mail id which
was made with the help of technical team. Secondly on the same day she gave the various
templates which will be used while dealing with the clients and candidates.
After that the manager allot us to their separate team leaders. Then from that day our main
work was begin i.e. our practical exposure. In this the team leader gave us the different
clients job description and then I have to read that specific clients information like what the
business they have and also read their specific job description so that I can give the
appropriate candidates through sourcing, reviewing the applications, screening and
processing. While doing processing I have to collect the updated CV, their pictures which
should be decent formal or casual and doing video call to check their communication skills
and observe them. Meanwhile when I had a word with the candidate through video call so I put up
some questions and fill the assessment sheet accordingly. At last accumulate all the documents and
send a mail to the team leader as well as put cc (carbon copy) to the CEO of the company also.

Chapter 4: Learning Experience and the Insights Gain
Recruitment refers to” the process of identifying, attracting, interviewing, selecting,
hiring and onboarding employees. In other words, it involves everything from the
identification of a staffing need to filling it.”
Steps of Recruitment processes:
Job Specification:
A job specification is a detailed description of the role, including all responsibilities,
objectives and requirements. A person specification is a profile of your ideal new employee,
including skills, experience and personality type.
Profiling and Strategize Search
Profiling is the gathering of useful/vital information about employees to enable you describe
them well for the purpose of placing them at appropriate jobs and positions within the
organisation. It is also done for the purpose of determining their suitability for employment,
retention and promotion.
Sourcing
Sourcing is the process of short listing correct candidates within the recruitment process.
Recruiters need to find qualified and unique candidates for job orders who can be job fit. It
can be done with the help of LinkedIn, Social media networks.
Screening
screening is the process of reviewing job applications. This comes in right after candidate
sourcing and involves skimming through resumes and cover letters to find the closest
applicant-job-description matches keeping in mind qualifications, experience, skill sets, and
projected candidate-organization fit.
Filtering done by Team Manager
This is the second phase in which Team Manager selected the right candidate.
Shortlisted profile with detailed assessment sheet shared with the client
Interview coordination and scheduling for shortlisted candidates, and regret mail to
rejected ones
Salary discussion and negotiation, documentation, reference check with previous
employers
Coordination till joining and follow-up for smooth transition.
The consultancy in which I’m exploring myself deals in 5 Sectors, are mentioned below:
Fashion and Luxury
Retail
E-commerce
Consumer (FMCG / FMCD)

1) It is a type of search that combines desired keywords with operators such as AND,
NOT and OR to produce relevant results. It’s based on George Boole’s mathematical
theory in which all variables are either true or false. You can run Boolean searches on
many search engines, including Google.
2) Recruiters customize Boolean searches to scour the web for relevant profiles of niche
candidates. Here’s a basic breakdown of how to use Boolean operators:

Once the candidate provided the information then we have to share with the team
manager for the approval if the candidature is appropriate according to the senior
point of view then we have to do a final step i.e.” VC (Video Calling)”

to send their stuffs to the team manager and discuss the candidature once senior
approves the respective candidate then we have to do “VC (Video Calling)“ with the
candidate to check the integrity and absorb their communication skills and knowledge
about their respective domain.
In the next phase we make the tracker of the respective candidate in Excel
Spreadsheet and send the email to the seniors with attach updated CV profile
pictures and VC (Video Calling) and screenshots. For Example:
