RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR CULTURAL EVENTS

Theme: Social and Cultural Integration under “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”

NOTE: There are total six events, in which two are group events and four will be individual
participation. Total participants number from each institution is restricted to ten only. Each
student is allowed to participate only in one individual event and group will be of ten. All the
performances should strictly adhere to the theme to qualify the event. Exceeding time limit
would lead to disqualification in all performances. Microphones, stage and lights will be
provided as available. The decision of judges and coordinators shall be final and binding in all
cases. In each performance first, second and third positions shall be awarded.

1. Painting
1. Only A -1 size canvas/sheet will be provided, no other items like colors, paint brushes etc.
2. Only wet paints will be permitted.
3. Any type of stencils is not allowed.
4. Time duration for painting is 4 hours.
Judgment Criteria: 1) Creativity 2) Theme 3) Color Scheme 4) Clarity

2. Solo Singing
1. Each performer will be given a time slot of 4 minutes for their performance.
2. Use of karaoke is prohibited. Participant can perform with a single instrument only
judgment shall be based on vocal performance.

3. Performance must be a Folk/Indian Classical/Semi-classical song. English songs are


not allowed.
Judgment Criteria: 1) Voice quality 2) Nodes3) Pitch 4) Stage Presentation

3. Solo Dance
1. Time limit for the performance will be 3 to 5 minutes.

2. Dance form should be essentially Classical/Semi Classical/ Folk Dance.

3. Selection of playback song must be focused on the theme & prior approval of song and
costumes must be obtained from cultural coordinator.

4. Use of props is allowed (participants should manage it at their own).Participants should bring
their sound track in pen drive.

4. Mono Act/Mimicry
1. Time limit for the performance will be 3 to 5 minutes.

2. Selection of act must be focused on the theme & prior approval of act must be obtained from
cultural coordinator.

3. No religious or vulgar satires are allowed particularly in the context of contemporary politics
and other topical issues. The act should not be related to any community special.

4. The act should be purely based on humour, social & laughter.

5. Group Songs
1. Each group (up to 10 students) will be provided a time slot of 5 minutes for their
performance.
2. Groups must bring their own acoustic instruments. Only synthesizer, Tabla and Dholak
will be arranged. Provided instruments will have to be played by the participants.

3. Song performed must be a Folk/Indian Classical/Semi-classical song. English songs are


not allowed.

4. Event must be performed preferably in traditional way. Use of traditional costumes would be
appreciated.

6. Group Dance
1. Each group (up to 10 students) will be provided a time slot of 6- 8 minutes for their
performance.

3. Dance form should be any folk, preferably from the states of Madhya Pradesh- Manipur and
Nagaland.

4. Selection of song must be based on the theme of the event. Prior approval of song
and costumes must be obtained from cultural coordinator.

5. Use of props is allowed (participants should bring their own props).Each group should bring
their sound track in pen drive.
