Project Crashing Guide

1) The document discusses project crashing techniques including crashing activities one period at a time, only crashing critical activities, and crashing the least expensive activity first. 2) It provides examples of possible project schedules before and after crashing, identifying critical paths and calculating total crash costs. 3) Additional details are given on crashing costs for individual activities based on their normal and crash durations and costs.

Procedure for Crashing

• Crash the project one period at a time

• Only crash critical activities
• Crash the least expensive activity
• If there are multiple critical paths:
– find the least expensive way to crash ALL critical
paths
– start by finding sum of crashing least expensive
activity on each critical path
