REFLECTIVE ESSAY
1. List all your talents/giftedness and how you use it in right way for the sake of the goodness of
others?
These are my talents:
• Editing Microsoft Word Templates and PowerPoint Templates
• Playing Volleyball
• Playing Chess
• Dancing
• Public Speaking
I use my editing skills for our activities given by our teachers and to make our presentation more
entertaining and good in the eyes of the audience. I use my volleyball skills and my chess skills
in decision-making in my life. Have good decision-making in everyday life. For example, when
I am angry, I distance myself to the person who I angry with and breathe for a moment rather
than speak something harsh to others and hurt the feeling of others. Being a volleyball player, I
became a disciplined person, I learn to control my anger and be patient. I always learn from my
mistakes and open to correction and have good and wise decision-making in everyday life. I use
my dancing skills to entertain other people especially during occasions when I dance, I make
other people smile and be happy. For public speaking, I use my voice to influence others and be
a role model for the youth.
2. Cite your own brokenness in terms of relationship and how do you overcome or heal this
brokenness?
My insecurities, my emptiness, and my imperfections are the brokenness that I considered. The
first thing that I did to overcome this brokenness is to love myself. Accepting yourself for what
you are and for who you will be. Somedays self-love is a lot easier said than done, but it’s
something that you need to constantly be doing. Self-love isn't just a state of feeling good, but
rather is a state of self-appreciation. Self-love is something that grows from within ourselves
through our actions supported by our psychological, spiritual, and physical states. It's not
something that is static, but rather fluid and dynamic where it evolves alongside us and our
maturity. Through self-love, we are able to center our life's purpose, feel compassion for
ourselves, accept our weaknesses, and lastly find fulfillment in our efforts. Self-love is vital to
living well. Over the course of the past few months, I have been practicing self-love through 8
powerful actions that have really transformed my life. Nevertheless, I can't say that I 100%
authentically love myself, since I still compare and criticize myself to others. However, self-love
is a journey and, in this journey, God is always with me.
