OBJECTIVES
The students of BA(JMC) are supposed to make this report as per their industrial experience In
respective fields of media. The academic objectives of the training are to:

● Work with new media World and gain practical knowledge:

Working under a whole new industry in real after being taught about it theoretically and
practically in college was extremely a new experience for me.The media industry taught
me about a whole new diversity of cases, incidents, politics, etc.,practically about
everything which is very important for an individual to know.Working with the media
industry gives tremendous knowledge about the world.

● Improve and explore the various functional areas and analyze how your theoretical
and practical knowledge applied in real/virtual life:

The things which we were taught in the college matched the working of the
workplace. Both the theoretical and practical knowledge which I gained from my college
helped me alot during the internship.During our practical classes we were taught Hindi
typing which helped me to get internship in a well known Hindi newspaper. The way we
were taught in theory classes about writing for the media industry was also helpful for
me.

● Analyze best practices, current standards and recent advances in Media and

Entertainment Organization:

There has been a big change from the past practices in the Media industry to the new. The
Media industry wants people to know the truth and for that they don't hesitate in writing
what's actually going on or what's the truth behind any case or incident. I was also taught
to do the same. I was told to write articles without being bias so that when the general
public reads them they could know the truth.

● Build up your skills and network with Industry Professionals:

The most helpful thing during the whole internship period was working under the
professionals of the Media industry. I not only learnt about how this network in the media
industry works but also how I can build up my own skills and become more creative after
getting guidance from them.
CHAPTER -1
INTRODUCTION
INDUSTRY PROFILE:
Digital media is any form of media that uses electronic devices for distribution. This form of media can be
created, viewed, modified and distributed via electronic devices. Digital media is commonly used software,
video games, videos, websites, social media, and online advertising. Even though digital media is part of
our everyday culture, business owners still find themselves uncomfortable with replacing their paper
advertising with digital marketing services.

However, with the constant shifts in technology, one cannot deny the influence that digital media has over
our way of life. It changes the way we educate, entertain, publish and interact with one another on a daily
basis. And, as a result of this influence, digital media pushes the business world out of the industrial age and
into the information age. Business plans are being adjusted to fit a digital strategy. We’re no longer writing
things with pens on paper, but instead communicating through digital devices.

A weather app on a smartphone, a racing game on a video game console and an ultrasound imaging device
in a hospital are all digital media products. They are successful because they are engaging, easy to use (even
fun in the case of games), and deliver results. Digital Media is a blend of technology and content, and
building digital media products requires teams of professionals with diverse skills, including technical
skills, artistic skills, analytical and production coordination skills. All of these skills need to be balanced on
a team, with all team members focused on creating the best user experience.

The world we live in today is populated by digital media products, and these products enable and deliver
experiences in many industries, including industries that aren’t typically associated with digital media—
such as health, government and education.

Digital media products can be found in:

 E-Commerce
 Games – console, online and mobile
 Websites and mobile applications
 Animation
 Social media
 Video
 Augmented reality
 Virtual reality
 Data visualization

Digital media can include these industries:

 Entertainment
 Technology
 E-Commerce
 Non-Profit
 Health
 Education
 Marketing and advertising
 Government
 Sports
 Environment
 Television
 Publishing

Types of Digital Media

There are 3 types of digital media:

 Owned media
 Paid media
 Earned media

Owned Digital Media

Owned media is any online asset that you control. This type of media is typically unique to your brand.
Digital media platforms include your website, social media channels, blogs, videos, etc.

If you optimize your owned media for SEO, your business will show when prospective clients search for
topics relevant to what you offer. The more owned digital media you create, the more visible your business
becomes. This gives your brand authority, thus increasing your ranking on the search engine results page.
Owned digital media gives you the opportunity to control the conversation surrounding your business. To
make the most of owned media, you must commit to delivering valuable content on a consistent basis.

Paid Digital Media

Paid media promotes your online content to improve traffic to your owned media assets. This form of media
typically includes PPC, paid search ads, display ads, and Facebook ads.

Even though paid media can be expense, when used correctly, it exposes your content and brand to a wider
audience. A good marketing agency can use paid media and properly done PPC management to direct the
right customers to your website. Furthermore, paid digital media advertising can offer significant and
measurable results within your campaigns, thus supporting your overall marketing strategy.

Earned Digital Media

Earned media is advertising generated by your customers. When customers advocate for your brand via
word of mouth, social media, reviews, testimonials, shares, re-posts, etc. This is the best form of
endorsement a business can have.

Earned digital media is an effective way to grow your brand while cutting down your customer acquisition
costs. However, you will have to monitor this regularly, because, unlike owned digital media, you don’t
have control over what’s being said.

Strong organic rankings on search engines and high-quality content are two of the forces that drive your
earned media.
Importance of Digital Media
With growing technology and dependence on machines our interaction with machines is increasing and
hence the role of digital media is also increasing in everyone’s life. Every minute there is addition of
something new over the digital sources and the user base to explore this information is also on the rise.
Through the last decade there has been a significant rise of businesses based on digital platforms such as
upcoming radio stations, e retail websites, logistic companies, search engines etc. and so is the use of
marketing in digital platforms increasing.

Digital media provides a very substantial customer base for the marketers. The speed of content delivery is
fast and highly customizable as in the case of social media marketing whereas it is reachable to common
masses through television advertisements. Email marketing and SMS services provide yet another medium
for promoting marketing content to the customers.

In traditional media like print and TV, measurement of the effectiveness and interactivity was limited to
sampling or surveys but in digital media, the effectiveness can be measured and observed in real time.
Subscribers of a video channel or listeners of a podcast can be measured in real time helping the publishers
improve the content instantly.

The interactivity and social media aspect of digital media makes it really important for businesses to start
using them effectively in addition to traditional channels.
Research from the past few years indicates that digital media is influencing the decisions of potential
travellers more and more. People consistently say that they spend more time on a digital device than
traditional media; they like the convenience of researching online; and they trust the opinions of online
personalities.

From a marketing perspective, digital media offers many benefits. Even if you are a relatively small World
Heritage site, it offers a much more affordable way to reach a larger and more diverse audience. It also
allows for shorter lead-time in the planning and implementation of campaigns.

Whether it is using the interactivity of social media, the emotional depth of video, or the large reach of
online publications, there are clear opportunities to change the behaviour of tourists you want to target. But
if you want to reach them, you need to go where they are – and that is in the digital world.
COMPANY PROFILE

SARAYU DIGITAL LABS is the print media organization of CONTENT WRITING that use electronics
for the end-user (audience) to access the content. Print media represents the oldest and the most widespread
type of mass media because as opposed to electronic media it does not require an elaborate technical
infrastructure on the part of the user.

It mainly comprises of newspapers and magazines. Newspapers are clearly associated with information and
show an emphasis on political issues and current events. They are valued as a backbone of the democratic
public sphere because they enable comprehensive public discourse. News magazines also serve an
information function, whereas most other magazines are more committed to entertainment and leisure.
These magazines show a diverse spectrum ranging from lifestyle to special interest magazines. With the rise
of online communication print newspapers and magazines have come under considerable economic
pressure.

In this 21st century although all the information about every topic in the world is present on the internet. But
it is also a fact that everyone in this world is not aware of how to operate the internet and take advantages of
their services and there are some places with signal problems like in hilly areas it becomes really difficult to
catch signals for even phone calls so operating internet there becomes an impossible task. But print media is
the one which can reach any part of the world and yes, it is reaching.

Print media is one of the oldest means of disseminating information. It is a popular form of advertising that
uses physically printed media like newspapers, magazines, books, leaflets, brochures etc. Print media has
the ability to reach a wider section of people. It is produced by printing, a process which reproduces text
and images on paper using ink in a printing press. In other words, it uses printing technology and methods
to spread news, messages, information among the people. .

But for all the advantages, there are also a few disadvantages. Print media is not the best method to get
the word out about your business if you are targeting a global audience as it's very rare to find print
publications that read globally. It requires a lot of planning, getting published on print media is quite a
process. You will have to plan your ad, write an ad copy, hire someone to design it and submit the ad copy
to the publication and process the payment. The process can be time-consuming and complex.
With print media, it's hard to target specific audiences. For example, targeting people who want to buy a

camera is not possible with print media like weekly newspapers. There's always a chance that your ad to get
disappear among other ads as print media publish a lot of advisement per edition even if you pay for a full-
page advertisement.  Getting published on print media can be highly expensive.

CHAPTER – 2

WORKING APPROACH
&
IMPORTANCE
OF TRAINING
SARAYU DIGITAL LAB is a group of certified Content Consultants who have vast training & great
experience in the sector of Print Media that is CONTENT WRITING.

Every company has it way of working which helps his/her intern to make or remember good points in
his/her professional life. Similarly working with Sarayu Digital Lab Group also made some chancges &
gave me knowledge for betterment in the field of print media, mass communication & content writing.
Firstly we were given a list of 10 themes related to content writing. From which we had to choose at least 4
themes after choosing I was given a day to write for the topic then we were given ideas and points for more
improvement like the element or the quality which you need to make sharp like while writing making the
content look attractive so that it makes a great impact on the public or the readers making points of
clarification.

We were given 2 hours to complete our work after that we had a virtual meeting everyday after the work
was done which helped us to understand our mistakes and make changes in the end which could help for
betterment in our career. Certain points were given like using some techniques which could gives us a great
experience like using Grammarly and checking plagiarism as these 2 things are like a weapon or a small gift
which helps you in making your work look greater as these 2 things helped in performing well in the sector
of content writing.

Content writing helps an intern or a student to build those skills which help them in getting betterment in
life. In the end, the most important part is to have a complete knowledge and attention on your content so
that it does not make a difference these qualities and points help us for making small mistakes into valuable
points of professional life. These things play a big role which can help you from committing a mistake as it
makes you more confident as a person mostly learns from his/her mistakes.

The importance of training is the main element when working professionally as working professionally
gives you experience and helps you understand that how life will make a change while working and gaining
experience one should have focus and determination towards his goal. The same points helped me in
making a strong change in my life. While working with the company I came to know about so many points
and tricks which I was not even aware of before like when it comes to working professionally I was a bit
shy and hesitated and interaction with my other colleagues helped increase my confidence and made me a
person with great and efficient confidence. It can be said working virtually in this difficult situation can also
do wonders in life.
I worked under the guidance of Mr. Prateek Aggrwal who was the editor in chief of their
departments. I learned about the style of writing from Mr.Alok Aggrwal. I was
assigned work of choosing the themes on daily basis then I have to write about those thems. And give
my opions or ideas on that.

Working in Sarayu exposed me to the real life print media work and helped me broaden my mind
to practical knowledge which is equally important as theoretical knowledge .
Importance of Training

In the training we get the practical or vitual exposure, and we come to know that what we study in theory is
really same what we are doing during the training. During the training we have to work like a professional,
so we get an experience of professionalism. If we learnt the professionalism with our studies one can get the
job easily in field/industry. We have an experience certificate after the graduation for applying for a job.

Training in general is a productive way to help people to learn how to carry out certain things in a
systematic manner. It also makes people understand what they should or should not do by simply giving
them the needed information. Here, people generally may refer to students, employees or any individuals
those are working under a certain form of the working body. However, training is not limited to formal
classroom courses, lectures or instructions as today with innovative technologies and views training have
moved outside the classroom with on site courses and also online webinars and internship also.

Training is a significant tool for both the employees and the supervisors. Training has achieved great
importance due to the exceptional rate of change in the internal and external organizational environment
with time. It is the best tool used to reconstruct and shape the operations of an organization along with
deploying the employees effectively in it. Training employees is an essential activity for all organizations as
it provides employees with the key knowledge and skills that they need to perform their job and meet the
requirements of the company. Training is needed in every part of the business, it may be an educational
firm or a sales and marketing company all need a specific kind of training and services.

Seemingly, trainings should cover all relevant workplace policies, procedures and practices to ensure that
staff gets access to all the appropriate skills and knowledge to perform their work safely.

Some of the benefits of training towards the organizational development are as follows:

 It develops a positive health and safety culture in the company environment.

 It helps the employees to acquire new skills, increase their contribution to the business and also to
build their self esteem and confidence to carry out the work assigned to them.
 It helps the organization in improving the customer service, carrying out better work safety practices
and productivity improvements.

 It aligns both the employees and the organizational plan together so that to achieve constant growth.

 It helps an organization in avoiding the extra financial costs.

Certainly, insufficient training and failure to follow necessary precautions in the work atmosphere have
contributed too many accidents in the past. Some cases have even resulted in death or disabling injuries that
might not have happened if forethought had been applied and preventive measures were taken. For such
concerns H&S Training Services and Safety Training Services are the best option. Moreover, the training
coordinator should possess good knowledge and procedures to carry out the trainings effectively.

It is very important that the trainer should take care of certain things while carrying out trainings:

 They must have the appropriate skills and expertise.

 Must provide training that is relevant to the specific field.

 Incorporates departmental expectations within the content.

 Can relate to the audience and convey the information effectively in their manner the employees
may feel comfortable.

 Must evaluate and update training in response to constructive feedback to align with specific
industry requirements.

Surely, having a strong and successful training strategy helps to develop your employer and make your
company operations run smoothly.
Advantages of Digital Media

 Digital media is always up to date

Be it Digital News Media or online learning, what you see is up to date, whether for informational or
educational purposes. One of the biggest Advantages of Digital Media is that there are no paper editions or
daily deadlines. Instead, all news updates happen automatically, so you don't have to worry about missing a
story if it doesn't come out on your day of purchase.

 No need for physical copies

Whether you're commuting to work, sitting in the park, or just relaxing at home with friends and family
after a long day of work. Digital media will never let you down. You'll always be able to find something
familiar without having to search too hard—or wait until tomorrow when the library opens again.

Moreover, it takes less effort than reading from other platforms: With digital media, you can read the article
without having to scroll or flick through pages, probably the best benefit of Digital Media.

 Ease of use

You're not limited to what you find on the newsstands. There are no limits to digital media. You'll have
access to all sorts of content from around the world without having to leave your house or worry about
different languages.

No matter who you are, you deserve information that matters, be it academic or related to entertainment.
With this type of format (not only for reading articles but also interacting), it's never been easier to get
exactly what you need at any given moment.

 Digital media is engaging

It engages the viewers to think critically and debate topics as they read through text-based arguments and
multimedia presentations found online rather than passively watching TV like most people probably one of
the Advantages of Digital Media.

Disadvantages of Digital Media

 Data Security

Digital technology means that vast amounts of data can be collected and stored. This can be
private information concerning individuals or organizations. It can be very difficult to keep this
data safe. Just a single breach can mean vast amounts of private information going into the
hands of criminals, terrorists, business rivals, foreign adversaries, or other malign entities.

 Crime and Terrorism

The internet is fertile territory for malevolent forces to operate, thanks to its international nature,
vast scale, and the relative anonymity that users can enjoy. Examples of this include: terrorists
using social media to promote themselves and encourage others; drug dealers using the dark
web to trade; pedophiles using chat rooms and other places to groom potential victims, exchange
photos, videos and other information; and authoritarian regimes attempting to sway or distort
elections in democratic countries.

 Complexity

We no longer understand the workings of the devices and machines that we interact with on a
daily basis. Fixing a modern car now means interacting with a computer; it is no longer just
mechanical. Using a phone can involve tackling all sorts of complicated settings. Minor glitches
in the operations of a laptop can cost both time and expense.

 Social Disconnect
There is an increasing tendency for people to socialize and communicate via digital devices
rather than through real-life contact. This can easily lead to a sense of disconnect and isolation.
Human beings have evolved over thousands of years to have real contact, so taking that away
affects them in all sorts of negative ways that we're only just beginning to understand. Studies
have suggested that the lack of real-life contact is causing depression and other forms of mental
illness in many people.

CHAPTER - 3
WORK ANALYSIS
 I done my summer training in Sarayu Digital Lab in Content Writing.

 The final visual output is broadcasted through app, on the command of senior editor.

 I have learned the creative form of writing from Mr. Prateek Agarwal, and Mr.Alok Singh .

 On 1st week of my training I have done a translation work. In which there is a Sanskrit verse is given
and I have to translate it in english and hindi. .

 From 2rd week of my training I started to done the simple/normal writing

 I do maximum all my work in the shift from mid of 3 rd week of my training in the supervision of my
seniors.

In 4th week of my training I wrote the whole verse in my own words

CHAPTER – 4
LEARNING PRÉCIS
 I got a good experience in Sarayu Digital Lab & environment was also good. The employees and my
senios are very helpful and cooperative.

 I got much knowledge of print media industry and industries related to media

 I come to know about the real professional life. I worked as a content writer. This may sound
hectic but for me, it was the best way to get as much practical experience as possible.

 I worked in Print media in content writing department and gain knowledge of editing,
proofreading, translation and writing.

 In a fast-paced media environment, it’s better to take time to understand than having to fix a
blatant error later. My supervisors and colleagues were more than happy to answer my questions
and I understood my job better for it. Ask and you shall receive: a better overall experience.

 I was confident in my knowledge and took notes diligently during training, but when things
stumped me, I made a point of asking my supervisor for clarification.

 I get a little bit knowledge of handling the staff and the work. And I come to know about the work
of creative writing, proofreading and editing.

 In four-weeks I not only learned about the various fields of the organization, I got to try them out
as well. I was’nt ever afraid to ask to work in areas that I was interested in or maybe areas that I
haven’t had that much experience in before, it was up to me to make the most of my time.

 In case am get the offer to join Sarayu Digital Lab than I want to change the creativeness of writing.
Because Sarayu Digital Lab use same format for the writing.
In future if anyhow I get an opportunity to work as a permanent member of SARAYU, I would
turn out some things for the betterment of the organization which would firstly include
submission and editing of the reports on time as I found a lot of delay in this , while working as an
intern. As well as I would also request them to hire female staff in their organization.

SUMMARY &
CONCLUSION
SUMMARY

I have learned a lot during my internship in the CONTENT WRITING. I got very good exposure and I
have learned to put down impossible in words. I do translation part daily and I got a good exposure, I can
say that I fully utilise my 1 month in Sarayu Digital Lab. I met many people who have many years of
experience in the industry, I learnt many things from them, and they share their experience of the industry
with me. Now I can try to settle in the industry at the time of job or at the stage of working. At Sarayu
Digital Lab, I have a Positive and good experience.

CONCLUSION
I hereby conclude that practical knowledge and practical experience give more knowledge rather than
theoretical knowledge. Therefore, my Functional exposure training at SARAYU DIGITAL LAB was a
wonderful and an unforgettable experience. I can use this experience in my further work and life.
