Benefits of reading as a hobby.


As we know ,everyone is having their own hobby. So my hobby is reading. The reason why I
love reading is :

1)Reading helps you sleep better.

-In this time of constant technological connection, our sleep is suffering. The blue light emitted
from screens disrupts melatonin levels. By checking “one last email” you are waking your brain
up when you should be relaxing. Then there is the stress of reading the news. As we now know,
reading a book helps you to relax.

Having enough restful sleep makes a big impact on how you feel and how productive you are
the next day. Instead of checking your school emails or surfing the web before bed, put the
screens away and reach for a good book instead. You will thank yourself the next day!

2)IT GROWS YOUR VOCABULARY

Another one of the advantages about this hobby is that it increases your vocabulary. You can
learn so many new words from reading. I think that this is a tremendous advantage. Having a
good handle on vocabulary helps you to speak properly and to sound educated. If you don’t
know a word you run onto when you are reading, look it up.

3)IT INDULGES YOUR IMAGINATION

Reading indulges your imagination. When you turn on a television, there is no need to imagine
anything because it is already placed before you in a visual setting. Reading is not like that.
When you read, you have to come up with your own visual images to go along with the book.
Sometimes when I am beginning a book, I will stop and take a few minutes to just sit and think
about how I want the characters to appear to me. It is quite enjoyable to do so.

4)IT IS A PEACEFUL HOBBY


Reading is such a peaceful hobby. You can do it in complete silence and just enjoy the serenity
of hearing nothing but your inner thoughts as you make your way through a book. It inspires a
peaceful feeling. Many are the times that I sighed a deep, contented sigh as I read the last page
of a good book. I don’t know anything else that offers such enjoyment.

5) Reading Keeps Your Brain Healthy

Just as exercise helps your body stay healthier longer, reading is an exercise that helps keep
your brain fit. As they say, use it or lose it! Doing puzzles and reading as you age is proven to
slow Dementia and Alzheimers (2). The next time you cozy up to read with a cup of tea, you can
say you are getting your daily dose of (brain) exercise.

CONCLUSION

-As you can observe through the various points,reading is a hobby that has immense benefits
and advantages. Reading will help you sleep better, grows your vocabulary ,indulges your
imagination ,a peaceful hobby and keep your brain healthy. Reading is surely one of the best
hobbies to have and start reading from today to achieve all those benefits of reading that I have
mentioned earlier

• Alright. Thank you moderator, In my opinion, hobby is good for our mental health.

• Because by doing some of our favourite hobbies, we can improve our mental health and
wellbeing.

• For me, people with hobbies also can avoid themselves from some mental health issues
like stress, anxiety, depression and more because they can get out from their house and
get some fresh air from outside after having some bad days or after back from working
or even after doing some homework. Not only that, we will be more relaxed and we can
increased our happiness after doing our hobbies.

• For example, if our hobby is baking, we can make some cookies in our free time after
working or after studying. This will help to reduce our tiredness and also at the same
time we can release our stress by spending time on an activity that we enjoyed.

• Besides that, listening to musics also can relaxing our mind. Actually, I heard alot about
Kpopers that having their own favourite groups and they also have their favourite idol or
known as bias in every groups that they like. Alot of them have release themselves from
some mental health issues like depression and anxiety by listening to their music. This
can prove that music can help to manage our emotions and cope with our mental health
issues.

❑ In my opinion,the benefits of having a hobbies is can be a lesson in mindfulness.For


me,mindfulness has gained a lot of traction in recent years for its benefits to mental
health.So,hobbies are a great way to staying present and practising mindfulness,as they
encourage us to get in the zone and really focus on what we are doing in that exact
moment.Then,hobbies can focuses and calms our mind because we don’t have to worry
or think about other things.After that,hobbies can help to relieve the symptoms and
effects of stress and depression.We can create feelings of our happiness when we have
achieve new skills.Another that,hobbies can increase our memory,concentration skils
and our confidence.By spending time on something we love to do,we don’t have a
chance to worry about the future or overthink the past.We’re completely focused,and this
can be really beneficial to our stress levels.

2)Hobbies Can Prevent Us From Wasting Time And Creating Bad Habits

❑ After that,hobbies can prevent us from wasting time and creating bad habits because
can help people avoid boredom. Boredom is actually responsible for a lot of the suffering
in our society, and many of people’s destructive behaviors.Having good hobbies to fill up
free time makes people less likely to spend their idle time on negative activities or bad habits
such as drinking, gambling, or drugs. Hobbies give you something to do when you are unable to
find something to fill your time. They also give you something to look forward to.As the old
saying goes, “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” Hobbies keep you out of trouble, and help
relieve boredom. So, rather than sitting around trying to find something to entertain you, you
can jump back into your exciting hobby that makes you lose track of time completely.So,that is
my opinion about the benefits of having a hobbies.Thank you!

Benefits Of Having A Hobby

Hobbies allow you to explore yourself and your talents. You never really know what you’re
capable of unless you try something. You may surprise yourself. It helps you to explore yourself
and your talents. A hobby that you really dedicate your time will lead you to explore your hidden
skill. As you spend more time at your hobby you will become better and better at it. For
example, you might assume that you would never be one to take up badminton because you
find it is boring to watch on television, and it seems like a slow way to spend your time. But if
you try it, you may discover that you love playing badminton, and that you have a certain talent
for playing the badminton correctly and being successful with the sport. As we sit in isolation in
the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, many are looking for hobbies that are both enjoyable
and beneficial to one’s well being rather than just waiting for time to pass by. Hobbies help you
discover the things that you’re good (and bad) at, and it might be surprise you. Self discovery is
especially important during the teenage years. For an example, my hobby is I sometimes like to
playing video games, I probably don't associate the activity with a constructive use of one's
time. But the truth is, playing certain video game can cognitively benefit teens like me to
promotes cognitive stimulation, improves problem-solving skills, takes the mind away from
everyday stress with the school work and helps to enhance thinking and spatial-reasoning
skills.Plus, if we have fun playing video games and deem them as being appropriate, I think this
is a fine hobby for teens like me who want to explore my skills or talents in different field to try
on something new. Video games can certainly be motivating as I progress from one level to the
next and continue to beat previous scores or finish a level that seemed impossible at one time.

The benefits of having a hobby ( playing outdoor sport such as football )

-When you like outdoor activities such as football, you also will meet different kind of people at
the outside. In this case you will be more friendly with the stranger then became your sport
partner. Apart from that, when you have a partner in any kind sport, they also can be your
supporter when you participated in the competition . when I was at secondary school I often join
the football competition at school and won the competition every time my friend and I
participated. we can say that they are our savior during our bored day. It is because they can
help us to improve our mood by spending time with happy and positive friends can elevate your
mood and boost your outlook.

For example, you can change your outfit followed the trend now a day. We can say that fashion
in the sport.

-Other than that, good friends can help you to reach your goals. It is because whether you’re
trying to get fit, give up smoking, or otherwise improve your life, encouragement from a friend
can really boost your willpower and increase your chance of success.

-One of my best experience last year is I go to the Chelsea football club at London, at the
Chelsea football stadium I meet the football player .One of them that I meet is N’golo Kante.
N’golo kante was an afria N’golo kante is one of my favorite Chelsea player because I really like
his skill to control the ball and how to score the goal. I also take a lots of picture with Paul
Progba one of N’golo Kante teammate. He also gave me his jersey that had an autograph on it.

2.Can improve relationship


- Friendships have a huge impact on your mental health and happiness. Good friends relieve
stress, provide comfort and joy, and prevent loneliness and isolation. Developing close
friendships can also have a powerful impact on your physical health. Lack of social connection
may pose as much of a risk as smoking, drinking too much, or leading a sedentary lifestyle.
Friends are even tied to longevity. One Swedish study found that, along with physical activity,
maintaining a rich network of friends can add significant years to your life.

But close friendships don’t just happen. Many of us struggle to meet people and develop quality
connections. Whatever your age or circumstances, though, it’s never too late to make new
friends, reconnect with old ones, and greatly improve your social life, emotional health, and
overall well-being.

It sounds like a good idea but In my opinion, hobbies can help us to provide additional
income.Nowadays, we must be smart in searching for additional money.We can earn extra cash easily in
so many ways. One of the ways that we can use is by doing our hobbies . It is because hobby is our own
interest. If we do our hobby, we will not easily getting boring in doing our work. There are so many
hobbies that we can help us to provide money. For instance, I choose cooking as my hobby. WE KNOW
THAT PEOPLE NEED and love FOOD. HENCE, anyone that choose cooking as their hobby can make
money by selling the foods that their make to the others by or taking orders online. If the foods are
delicious, people will love it. The customers will increase day by day as they really like it. In this way,
they can get extra money by selling the foods. Besides, we can get extra money by showing our passion
by doing a youtube channel. We can do a cooking show or trying new recipes and share it to the others.
In a nutshell, we must be smart in choosing our hobbies.

Based on my experience, my opinion is that having a hobby can relief your stress.

With today's stressful lifestyles, it's important to have time

that you take to do something just for the fun of it, as part of your self-care .

This means, you have to take a time to do something that you love.

A good example is doing physical activity or exercise.


Physical activity can not only improve physical health; it can also relieve stress and improve your mental
well-being.

Look for a physical activity or exercise that you enjoy, then start making it as a regular part of your life. It
might be something as simple as going for a walk each day.

Other ideas including joining a local sports team, signing up for an exercise class, or using online exercise
workouts a few times each week.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that having a hobby can relief you stress. Thank you

Thanks, panel six. So, as we can see, based on Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary,
hobby is an activity that you do for pleasure when you are not working. Having hobby that we
enjoy can brings us joy and boost our lives. It gives us something fun to do during leisure time
and affords us the opportunity to learn new skills.

Having hobby is very important in our life, which can help us especially for students to unwind
from a stressful day. From my point of view, there’s a lot of benefit of having hobby. Firstly,
hobbies can keep us in better physical health. From this point, physical hobbies can be great
way to keep in shape. For examples, hobbies like jogging, hiking, yoga, sports or fitness can
keep us active without the feeling of an obligatory trip to the gym. Besides that, having hobby by
playing sports can also help us to controlling unnecessary weight gain especially for those who
are obese. Playing sports can also decrease in the strength of muscles, bones and joints. It is
an inevitable corollary of growing old. Aged people are advised to go for regular walks and
practice numerous physical exercises so that their body parts are always in healthy and working
condition. By that, turning exercise into hobby will also have flow-on effects from increased
confidence, increased energy levels and overall increase in our physical health. So, in a
nutshell, a hobby can change a person’s overall personality and behaviour. Hobbies play an
important part for everyone to relax and help us to get rid of the stress of other activities. That’s

First of all , my hobby is hiking. As we know that hiking can bring you joy and a boost in
happiness that you wouldn’t be able to get through other activities. Just like any physical
activity helps release endorphins, hiking will inevitably make you happy and instantly lift your
mood. Science says so! You will also have some time to unwind and think about nothing if that
is what you want. Clear your mind and let the stress melt away as your body pulls you forward
to the goal that you’ve set. If, on the other hand, you need ideas or a new perspective on a
burning issue, hiking is known to boost creative thinking as it elevates your senses in a natural
surrounding and gives you a new outlook in a refreshing environment. The second points is
hiking can lets you connect with nature.After being stuck inside working for most of the day, it
can be hard to enjoy and appreciate the nature around us. Hiking is a great way to explore
unknown areas and to fully get in touch and enjoy the feeling of nature and the beauty within
it.There are very few things that are better than reaching the top of a mountain and seeing the

and we enjoyed it. For example, as Anelsa says before, physical activity like workouts and
exercise are not only to increase our physical health. It also can release us from our problems

some walk at the park.

As for me, In my point of view, I strongly agree with panel 6 opinion which saying that hobby can
help us release stress as we are the students that had no time to explore ourself. With a
stressful lifestyle as a students that is full of assignment from school, hobby in other way help us
to relax our mind and stay calm and in the same time it prevent us to lead an unhealthy lifestyle
that will effect both our physical and mental health. Although we had a busy and full schedule,
sometimes we need some fresh air to take our mind away from the everyday stress.

Yes. That is true hobby can relief stress. It is because we all need a healthy distraction that
takes our thoughts off negative problems or challenges. For example based on my experience,
playing football can helps me to unwind and forget about struggles I have in other areas of life.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a great idea to multitask or focus on negatives. The mind should
focus on a few things at a time, and what’s positive.

the risk of having high blood pressure. For example, we can enjoy a few hours to do our hobby

From my points of view, i am agree with anelsa opinion which is hobby can relief stress. Relief
stress is very important to keep our mental healthy. The present generation is leading a
stressful life compared to the life of the people in the olden days. The moment you jump up from
the bed in the morning, the whole day you will be on toes running from one place to other as a
part of their busy schedule of life. At the end of the day you just go to bed without any physical
activity but with much mental stress. This kind of life style ends up in health problems. Hobby
acts as an outlet for relieving stress. Once you let out your entire day's stress, you feel relieved
and get a feeling of freshness. It is very beneficial to have a hobby and daily spend some time in
developing it so that you can keep yourself engaged for some time and feel the freshness of
