PAGA Console System Operational Procedure

ACET 64 PAGA Console

Below shows a typical operator console layout showing areas of Routine zone
selection and Manual Alarm selection together with Emergency speech. All
operator panels will be configured as per the requirement of the operating area
and as per the GA and PA zone spread sheet.

The ACET64 console is


divided into 2 sections

Zone selectors in the GREEN


portion

Alarm activation and


Emergency Speech buttons
are found on the bottom 2
rows in the RED portion.

The bottom 2 rows are


normally disabled to
prevent accidental
operation. The Enable
Alarm Push On Push Off
Button must be activated
first before these buttons
are available

PAGA Console Operation

1.Routine speech: preselect zone/zones,


led flashes, press PTT Pre announcement
chime is played then make broadcast,
release PTT deselect zone or it will auto
cancel after 4-5 secs.

2.Manual Alarm trigger: First ensure Alarm


Enable Button is on Illuminated.
(Operation of alarm trigger is push on
push off), preselect zone/zones, led
flashes push on the required alarm button
led on, alarm is broadcast to selected
zone, Alarm content is tone –message –
tone, repeated.

3.Emergency speech: preselect


zone/zones, led flashes, press EMPTT then
make broadcast, release EMPTT deselect
zone or it will auto cancel after 4-5 secs. If
Alarm is broadcasting then Emergency
speech will override during broadcast.
Alarm will be reinstated when EMPTT
released

4.EVAC: EVAC button when selected will


broadcast the evacuation tone to all
selected zones.

Microphone Usage tips: 5.Alarm Cancel button when pressed will


cancel any pre-selected Alarm Tone
 Make sure you speak close and confidently into the inclusive of Auto F & G
microphone, any further than 1 inch or 3 cm from
the microphone is too far away. 6.Priority: Each button can be assigned a
priority for example routine speech
buttons will have lower priority than Alarm
 Talk like your addressing people in a room. and Emergency Speech buttons. Priority
Regime to be set during detailed design.
 Both consoles are fitted will a V.U. Meter (Visual indicator)
located below the microphone.

 This meter will work even when the access panel is


not being used. Practice talking into the
microphone and try to mostly indicate RED LED
while talking.

Note: If you find the RED LED isn’t lighting up during your speech
you are either too quiet or not close enough to the microphone!
•Before starting know what your going to say, if unsure write it
down or rehearse first

Procedure Routine Speech Access.


1. ROUTINE SPEECH ACCESS TO THE PAGA SYSTEM FROM THE ACET ACCESS UNIT
Perform the following tests on both the System ‘A’ Access Unit and System ‘B’ Access Unit.
1.Routine speech: preselect zone/zones, led flashes, press PTT Pre announcement chime is played then make
broadcast, release PTT deselect zone or it will auto cancel after 4-5 secs.
