Stearamide AMP 1.5 Humectant
Glycerin (Emery) Glycerin 0.2 Conditioning Agent
DL-Panthenol (Roche) Panthenol q.s. Additive
Preservative, Dye, Fragrance q.s. pH Adjuster
Sodium Hydroxide, 50% solution q.s. pH Adjuster

Procedure 1. Into a suitable vessel equipped with mixing, heating, and cooling capabilities, add Deionized
Water, STEPANOL® WA-EXTRA (or STEPANOL® WA-EXTRA HP), AMPHOSOL® HCG (or
AMPHOSOL® HCG-HP), STEPAN-MILD® L3, and Glycol Stearate.
2. Start mixing and heating to 70ºC–75ºC (158ºF-167ºF). Emulsify for 25 minutes, maintaining
temperature.
3. Start cooling to room temperature. At 30ºC (86ºF), add Glycerin, DL-Panthenol, Preservative,
Dye, and Fragrance. Mix well.
4. Adjust pH with Sodium Hydroxide, 50% solution, or Citric Acid, 50% solution, and viscosity with
Sodium Chloride.
*Note: When formulating with AMPHOSHOL® HCG-HP and/or STEPANOL® WA-EXTRA HP, a
greater amount of Citric Acid, 50% solution, may be needed to adjust the pH within the
recommended range as noted, than when formulating with AMPHOSOL® HCG and STEPANOL®
WA-EXTRA.

Instructions Massage into wet hair, lather, then rinse thoroughly.
