Knowing oneself is critical to being an effective team member as well as being successful

for who you are as a person. You will explore how you see yourself through the lenses of

your psychological needs. You will also examine how you respond to the pressures of
changes and transitions in your life.

You will have an opportunity to examine how your personal identity has been shaped by
a variety of people and experiences. You will also have opportunities to think about and
discuss your values, interests, hopes for the future, as well as, your strengths and
challenges. You will learn about how your psychological needs are the primary source that
motivates and drives your behavior. You will also learn critical knowledge about change

Setting Priorities About Values

Values are beliefs, feelings, and principles that guide a person’s actions and give those
actions meaning.

Values

1. Money – I believe money can buy happiness. With money, we can buy or do things
that makes us happy.

2. Peace of mind – We need it to be truly happy.

3. Happiness – We need happiness to be contented, satisfied and of course, to be

happy.

4. Success – For me success is when you are happy after you achieve all of your dreams
in life.

5. Nature – It teaches us to observe life around us. For me, by seeing nature, we can
think peacefully and it can give a calm in our heart.

6. Spiritual Life – It includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves

and it typically involves a search for meaning in life like sense of purpose.

7. Friends – Somebody that loves you for who you are and they are the ones who you
can tell your problems to.

8. Taking on Challenges – It’s about giving yourself a permission to grow as a person.

9. Satisfaction with Work – It’s when you feel self-motivated and contented with your
work.
10. Learning – It can give you a knowledge and lessons to be a better person.

11. Balancing Your Life (work and play) – It is important to have/do this to avoid stress.

12. Physical Health – It’s about having a regular exercise and balanced nutrition.
Success Stories
Think about and write two or three of your success stories.

1. When I was in grade 6, I graduated with honors. Because of that, my grandmother was
very proud of me. I was happy that time for making her proud because I think that is
the only way to pay her back with all of her sacrifices since she was the one who raised
me.

2. When I passed the battery exam during my second-year college. I was nervous that
time because if I failed, I need to transfer on another course or school.

What does this say about who you are and what’s important to you?

*It’s says that I have an appreciation for my studies. I’m always doing my best for my family.

Share with your group “why” these success stories are important to you.
