TITLE: “Children Numeracy Program”


VENUE: Simbayan ni Maria Community Foundation, Lower Bicutan, Taguig

PROPONENT: College Education- Taguig City University Mathematics Club
TARGET DATE: June - July 2022

I. RATIONALE

We, The Taguig City University Mathematics Club, an academic organization providing
academic wellness in mathematics and allied areas within the university and the community. To
bring academic excellence and awareness for the students, teachers, and the community
through sense of cooperation and partnership.

For the preparation of each student as we are now in the internship program of
our university, we intend to become effective, efficient and innovative teachers of the
future as anchor of the TCUMC mission and vision as stated above. The COVID-19
challenges our skills and abilities of being educator

The Taguig City University Mathematics Club aim to conduct an extension program
entitled “Children Numeracy Program”. Its goal is to educate and help the children from
Simbayanan ni Maria Community foundation by teaching numerical literacy once in a week in
whole month of July. Spearheaded by the 4 th year Students taking the bachelor of secondary
education major in mathematics.

For this extension program guidelines from the IATF must be followed by the organizers:
Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF)
RESOLUTION NO. 155 Series of 2021

The following establishments, or activities, shall be allowed to operate or be undertaken


at a maximum of 30% indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals only and 50%
outdoor venue capacity. Though there’s no restriction in terms of indoor and outdoor capacities
under Alert level 1, we will still follow the social distancing. As a result, the target participants will
be limited to specific student leaders. Provided that all on-site workers/employees of these
establishments and organizers of activities are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and MPHS
shall be strictly maintained. Provided further, there is no objection from the LGU where these
activities may occur. Proof of full vaccination shall be required before entry into the list of
establishments identified under the principles of 3C’s (Closed, Crowded, and Close Contact)
strategy against COVID-19. Children ages seventeen (17) and below shall not be required to
present proof of full vaccination status.

a. Venues for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE)


● Students must wear a face mask throughout the event.
● Maintain at least 1m distance from each other.
● Present a vaccine card showing that they are fully vaccinated

II. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the program are to:
a. Provide an intensive one-on-one basic mathematics tutorial to the beneficiaries
of Simbayanan ni Maria Community Foundation.
b. Expound the linkages of Taguig City University-College of Education as to
extension program;
c. Comply with the requirements of ALCUCOA on Area V: Entrepreneurship and
Employability. And Area VI: Extension Services.

III. DESCRIPTION
The Children Numeracy Program is an extension program conducted by the
fourth year students taking bachelor of secondary education major in mathematics under
the College of Education. This activity includes different types of mind boggling activities
for children and basic numeracy skills training

The expected outcome of the program is the following:
a. Strengthen numerical literacy among the beneficiaries of the program;

c. Stronger and collaborative 4th year BSE-Math Students.
