(a)(i) Explain the meaning of derived unit with the help of one example.

(ii) Express relationship between Angstrom and fermi

(b)(i) What is a leap year?. State the rules to identify the same 

(ii) Explain the meaning of the term ‘least count of an instrument’ by taking a suitable

example.

(c) (i) Define the term 'Vernier constant'.

(ii) What do you mean by zero error of a screw gauge? How is it accounted for?

(d) Two pendulums P and Q have equal lengths but their bobs weigh 10gf and 20gf

respectively. (i) Compare their time periods.(ii) Give a reason for your answer

(e) (i) Name the two scales of a Vernier calliper and explain how it is used to measure a

length correct up to 0.01 cm.

(a) Derive any two equations of motions by graphical method

(b) A train travels with a speed of 40km/h from station A to station B and then comes

back with a speed 50 km/h from station B to station A. Calculate

(i) The average speed, (ii) the average velocity of train.

(c) Draw Displacement – time graph for an object moving with constant velocity and

variable velocity. Mark the slopes in both cases, what does the slope indicates

(d) When brakes are applied to a bus, the retardation produced is 50 cm per second

squared and the bus takes 20 s to stop. Calculate (i) the initial velocity of bus (ii) the

distance travelled by bus during this time.

(e)Using the following V-T graph of a body answer the following questions.
(i) During which time intervals is the body moving with variable velocity?

(ii) What is the acceleration of the body during the interval 3 s to 5 s?

(iii) What is the displacement of the body in the last four seconds of its motion?
