1. PURPOSE:

The Method of statements describes the sequences and the methods of works to be followed to
ensure the tightness (absence of leaks) for the c.w pump station diagonal wall) through checking
all the concrete joints until the top level, which contains water all the time.

4. RESPONSIBLITIES:

4.1 PROJECT MANAGER:


The Project Manager shall be responsible for an over-all direction, monitoring,
coordination and control for leakage test at site.

4.2 QC MANAGER:
QA/QC manager shall be responsible for ensuring that execution of works are
complying with approved method of statement, specifications, approved shop drawings
and ITP requirements .he must ensure that before starting any inspection, control, trials,
tests etc. that all qc protocols on the field as well as all needed tools and devices (duly
calibrated. A calibration certificate copy must be with the tools / devices at field.
QA/QC Manager must ensure that all QC Protocols have been filled and signed
(involved parts) on field. Just after finishing inspections, controls, tests, trials, etc.
QA/QC Manager must ensure that Method Statement is at site where the works are
going on. QA/QC Manager must ensure that Surveyors are developing their works using
duly calibrated measuring devices. The updated TR’s stickers have been placed in each
and all measuring devices before starting using them. Those stickers must be updated.

4.3 QA/QC INSPECTOR


The QA/QC Inspector shall be responsible to carry out the inspection of all activities
involved in drainage pipe leakage test. The QA/QC inspector must follow the
indications given for the subcontractor QA/QC Manager on site, in order to achieve all
the quality requirements, under the responsibility of the subcontractor QA/QC manager
on site.

4.4 SITE ENGINEER


The Site Engineer shall be directly involved in planning and execution of all activities
involving in the drainage pipe leakage test at site.

4.5 SAFETY OFFICER

The Safety officer shall be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the work safety on
jobsite according to plan.

4.6 FOREMAN

The Foreman shall be responsible for direct execution and control of workers and ensure
that all works are being performed with proper tools /equipment, PPE, and good
housekeeping on the work area and will be ensured that the workers are following the
approved method of statements.

5.0 EQUIPMENTS AND TOOLS:

 Scaffolding platform
 Measuring tape

6.0 WORK PROCEDURE:

 Obtain clearance from Mechanical, Electrical and Contractor Safety department


prior to start work.
 PTW shall be obtained from contractor before starting works.
 Approval shall be obtained from SEWA to open the sea water gates
 Open the sea water gates and allow the water to enter in to CW Pump station & gates
shall be kept open until the leak test finish.
 Level of water shall be considered as the same level of sea & same level shall be
marked on the SEWA side of diagonal wall.
 Visual inspection shall be carried out for diagonal wall (B/W IPP & SEWA)
construction joint (new and existing structure) & concrete surface upto marked level.
 If any leaks found in the diagonal wall (B/W IPP and SEWA) upto the level of sea
water shall be repaired immediately with approved repairing material and redo the
test.
 Subcontractor shall submit for PARTNER’S approval an inspection communication
protocol to be applied during the works. ( “Request for inspection “, RFI).hard/soft
copy of RFI (as per template 70150-00-YDR-QNQ-TRE-003-Tmp02) and RFI log
( as per template 7150-00-YDR-QNQ-TRE-003-Tmp03) will be forwarded as
notifications to all parties involved and necessary documents (This MOS and site
investigation report) will be made available at the location of the inspection by
subcontractor/partner qc personnel.
 Based on the RFI parties will inspect the completed work for its compliance with
project standards and specifications and accept the work. All parties will sign the
check list/ inspection report on completion of inspection. Subcontractor will file
these completed reports in safe custody.
 RFI and inspection logbook may be combined in a database with access for partner.
 All works shall be executed in compliance with quality requirements as per Project
Quality Plan.
 RFI shall be submit prior 24 hours before the inspected.

7.0 SAFETY AND RISK ASSESMENT:

 All works shall comply with the safety procedure or instruction as set out in project
safety plan and municipality rules and regulations.
 Basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be worn by all staff or laborers.
 All operatives shall be inducted before entering the site.
 Tool box talk shall be conducted before the activity.
 The Subcontractor shall be responsible for all the necessary safety measures at all time.
All works related will be executed in accordance with the Client’s/ Main contractors
Safety Plan.
 The work will only proceed when a Permit to Work (PTW) has been obtained or when
required. The PTW will be kept on the site for consultation during the execution of
works.
 Special attention will be given to:
 Cordoning off the specified working area and provision of applicable sign boards.
 Erection of suitable scaffoldings with safe access ladder within the working area and to
be inspected prior to its use on a daily basis.
 The identified hazard & associated risks of control measures shall be communicated to
the work force through tool box meeting at the beginning of each day’s work and follow
the same always for all activities.
 All workers shall be made aware about the risk assessment and tool box talks regarding
the hazard in mentioned activities.
