STEPS FOR IMAGE PLACEMENT
1. Open a New Word Document
2. Create a Sample Letter:
a. Set paper size into 8.5 x 13”
b. Remove the Space after Paragraph (Home Tab)
c. Type the date today August 7, 2017 > Press Enter Key twice
d. Type the Inside Address, (example we want to write to the high school principal of SFC)
i. BETHZAIDA BALINGAO, PH.D. (in Capital letters and Bold face) > press Enter key
ii. High School Principal > press the Enter key
iii. St. Ferdinand College > press the Enter Key twice
e. Type title Madam + colon > press the Enter Key twice
f. To insert a paragraph, type=rand(3,5) then press enter
— Alignment: Justify
— Add space between paragraphs
(2 spaces after last paragraph)
g. Type Yours truly, press the Enter Key twice
i. Type Your Full Name press the Enter Key twice
— In Capital Letters
— Bold face
ii. Type Sales Manager
3. Save your document.
a. Save to E-Tech Folder in Data D
b. For File name: ACT3_IMAGE PLACEMENT
I. INSERTING OF PICTURE/CLIP ART
1. Click the space after the 1st paragraph
— Insert your preferred ClipArt
2. By default the wrapping style of the ClipArt is In Line with Text (meaning: from the words in line,
or Line by Line or it is considered as text where they moved as you move the ClipArt) (try to
move the picture)
3. Apply the Text Wrapping.
a. Right Click on the image > Format Tab > Wrap Text
b. Select Square option
(Meaning: you can place the picture anywhere within the paragraph, once that you
move the image all the text within that paragraph will adjust.
c. Select Tight option
(Meaning: It is almost the same with Square, but the texts in the paragraph will
adopt the shape of the Image
d. Select Through option
(Meaning: They are the same with Tight
e. Select Top and Bottom option
(Meaning: You can only place the picture before or after each line. The line will
adjust horizontally.
f. Select Behind Text option
(Meaning: You can place your picture anywhere and it can serve as your
background for your word document.
g. Select In Front of Text option
(Meaning: Reverse of Behind Text (example, for Electronic Signature)
4. Square wrapping style will be used for this
— Set the Height into to 2”.
— Place the image on Right side of the 1st Paragraph
II. INSERTING A CHART
1. Click the space after the 2nd paragraph
2. To insert a chart, go to Insert tab, under Illustrations, click the Chart.
3. In the Chart Dialog box, Click on Pie and select or click the Exploded Pie 3-D type chart
4. Click ok
5. An Excel Worksheet will pop up using the default data that Microsoft Word uses for the Chart.
6. To change the Title or Heading of the Chart, modify it into the Worksheet.
a. In the worksheet, click or select the Cell where the title or heading is located
(Check in Name Box: B1)
b. Type Volume > Press Enter Key (check the word document if the title of the chart will
changes)
7. To change the Labels name,
a. click or select the 1stQtr cell then type Europe > press enter Key
change 2ndQtr into America
change 3rdQtr into Middle East
change 4thQtr into Asia
8. Close the Excel Worksheet
9. To resize Chart data range, drag the lower right corner of range.
Or in Format tab > Height: 2.5”, Width: 4”
10. Chart’s text wrap: Top and Bottom
11. Drag and place your chart between 2nd and 3rd paragraph.
12. You can change the type of your pie chart if you want.
13. To do so, click the Chart > Design Tab > select or click your preferred 3D type of a pie chart or
you can change the style in Format tab
14. Save our document
