Converting Short Story Into Script

EXT. A NARROW SIDE STREET IN HARUJUKU – DAY

We open on a busy and bustling street in HARUJUKU. It’s packed with people, all going
about their day shopping and socialising. We are able to get a look at the different shops
along the street, with colourful signs and lights promoting a multitude of different products.
Throughout the crowd however there’s a girl who stands out from the rest of them, but still
looks like she fully belongs there. She looks quite normal, but still special. She is in her early
thirties, we can see that the back of her hair is bent out of shape from sleep, like bed hair. Her
clothes are still quite normal, but she is able to pull off the look extremely well. JOSH spots
this mystery woman through the crowd as he’s browsing the markets, and is instantly taken
aback. We can see through his facial expressions that he adores her beauty and this is his
dream girl. However, through his facial expressions you can immediately tell that he is
getting cold feet. As if he saw this girl and everything about her flashed before his eyes and
then he had to go. JOSH freaks out and rushes away to his friend JACK to tell him about this
girl.

INT. A LOCAL RAMEN SHOP - DAY

JOSH
(Frantically, almost stumbling over his words)
It happened! I just passed the 100% girl on the street!

JACK
(Impressed, and curious)
Oh yeah? Good for you mate! Was she good looking?

JOSH
Surprisingly, not really.

JACK
(Laughing)
Perfect, you’re favourite type then?

JOSH
(Defeated)
Well, I really don’t know, I can’t remember anything about her

JACK
(Puzzled)
What? That’s so strange…

JOSH
(Puzzled)
Yeah you’re right, it is strange.
JACK is already clearly bored and wants to know more.

JACK
(Intrigued)
So anyway, what did you do? Did you talk to her? Follow her?

JOSH looks down to the ground in shame and disappointment almost

JOSH
No, no I didn’t I just passed her on the street
