Dreadnought
A
specialized archetype, the dreadnought is an
expert in dual-wielding shields. Not only does
the dreadnought draw upon the additional
protection of their second shield, their prowess
as a fighter allows the dreadnought to wield the
shields as offensive weapons.
Dual Shields
Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to wield and benefit
from the AC bonus of two shields at a time. For you, any
shield you wield is considered a one-handed melee weapon
that you are proficient with. Your melee weapon attacks with
your shield deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage. When you reach
7th level, the damage die for your shield changes into a d6.
Shield Charge
Beginning at 7th level, when you use the Dash action during
your turn, you can make a melee attack with shield as a
bonus action. If the attack hits, the target must succeed on a
Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your
Strength modifier) or be pushed ahead of you for the rest of
your move on this turn. If the pushed target is prone, at the
end of your move it takes an amount of bludgeoning damage
equal to your Shield Damage die for every 10 feet it is
pushed.
Engulfing Presence
At 10th level, while you are conscious and wielding two
shields, you are able to be utilized as a piece of three-quarters
cover to creatures in the same way a creature would use a
tree trunk or wall. A creature can benefit from the cover you
provide only when an attack or other effect originates on the
opposite side of you than the creature is on.
At 18th level, creatures that use you as cover treat you as
full cover instead of three-quarters cover when utilizing you
as a source of cover.
Ferocious Charger
Starting at 15th level, if you move at least 10 feet in a straight
line right before attacking a creature and you hit it with the
attack, that target must succeed on a Strength saving throw
(DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or
be knocked prone. You can use this feature only once on each
of your turns.
