DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

I. Definition of descriptive

 The description text is a paragraph where the main idea is conveyed by


clearly describing the object, place, or event that is becoming a topic to the
reader.

II. Social function / purpose


 The purpose of the description text is to provide information to the reader
about a specific matter so that the reader can know about the object both
the form and the nature attached to the object.
 The purpose of the descriptive text of course is to describe, describe or
describe a thing or object that has been described, which is useful to
provide information to the describer and also the reader.

III. Generic structure / text organization


 Identification: determining a person's identity, objects, and so on.
 Classification, arrangement of system-by-system in accordance with rules
or standards that have been established.

BATUR MONTAIN
Mount Batur is an active volcano in Kintamani, Bangli District, Bali, Indonesia. Located
in the northwest of Mount Agung, this mountain has a caldera measuring 13.8 x 10 km and is
one of the largest and most beautiful in the world (van Bemmelen, 1949). The high caldera
trunk ranges from 1267 m - 2152 m (peak G. abang). In the caldera I is formed caldera II in
the form of a circle with a diameter of approximately 7 km. The base of Caldera II lies
between 120 - 300 m lower than Kintamani Undak (base Caldera I). Inside the caldera there
is a crescent-shaped lake that occupies the southeastern section about 7.5 km long, a
maximum width of 2.5 km, around 22 km and an area of about 16 km2 which is called Lake
Batur. The Batur Mountain Caldera is estimated to be formed by two large eruptions, 29,300
and 20,150 years ago
Mount Batur consists of three volcanic cones with each crater, Batur I, Batur II and Batur III.

Mount Batur has erupted many times. The eruption of G. Batur recorded in the history
began in 1804 and the last eruption occurred in 2000. From 1804 to 2005, Mount Batur has
erupted as many as 26 kalidan most terrible occurred on August 2 and ended 21 September
1926. The eruption of Mount Batur makes hot lava flows piled up the village of Batur and
Pura Ulun Danu Batur.
Mount Batur is one of the most active volcanoes on the island of Bali. Mount Batur is also
the second highest mountain, after Mount Agung is located in Besakih tourist attraction area.
The expanse of black rocks of former eruption of Mount Batur was very very interesting used
as a location photo shoot pre wedding.

Lots of tourists who climb on Mount Batur. In addition to enjoy the journey, from the top
of Mount Batur you will be treated to a variety of beautiful scenery. Starting from the
romantic colors of the morning sun, the green of trees in the mountains surrounding the
brimming Caldera Mount Batur, the blue water of Lake Batur and the cool mountain air will
make your beautiful moments more unforgettable.
To climb Mount Batur, the journey starts from the start point at Pura Jati Toya Bungkah
Kintamani at around 04:00 in the morning. If you make the climb for the first time, you
should ask a guide to accompany you. But if you are confident enough to be able to get rid of
other climbers, you should 'infiltrate' in another group of climbers. Actually climbing route is
not difficult because every day dozens of climbers climb Mount Batur, but the journey that
begins on a dark day can be troublesome to you who do not know the terrain at all.
