1). A small reservoir has the following storage-elevation relationship.
Elevation (m) 55 58 60 61 62 63
Storage (10³ 250 650 1000 1250 1500 1800
m³)
A spillway provided with its crest at elevation 60.00 m has the discharge
relationship Q= 15𝐻3/2, where H is the head of water over the spillway crest.
When the elevation is at 58.0 m, the flood described by the following table enters
the reservoir. Route the flood to obtain the outflow hydrograph and the reservoir
elevation vs time curve.
Time (h) 0 6 12 15 18 24 30 36 42
Inflow 5 20 40 60 50 32 22 15 10

2). The storage, elevation and outflow data of a reservoir are given below:

302.20 7.9 115
302.70 8.8 160
The spillway crest is at elevation 300.20 m. The following flood flow is expected
into the reservoir.

If the reservoir surface is at elevation 300.00 m at the commencement of the
inflow, route the flood to obtain (A) the outflow hydrograph, and (B) the
reservoir elevation vs time curve.
3). Route the following flood through a reach for which K = 22 h and x = 0.25. Plot
the inflow and outflow hydrographs and determine the peak lag and attenuation. At
t = 0 the outflow discharge is 40 m3/s.

4). A watershed is divided in to two sub areas A and B. The surface run off from
subarea A enters a channel at point 1 and flows to point 2 where the runoff from
subarea B is added to the hydrograph and combined flow routed through a
reservoir. Determine the discharge hydrograph from the reservoir, assuming that
the reservoir is initially empty. What are the areas of sub areas A and B in square
miles?
The reservoir has the following storage-outflow characteristics:-
Storage (ac.ft) 0 220 300 400 500 600 700 1100
Outflow (cfs) 0 2 20 200 300 350 450 1200
The channel from point1 to point 2 has maskingum parameters K= 0.5 hrs and X=
0.25. Sub area A is undeveloped sub area B has residential development. As a
result the Ø index for sub area A is 0.8 in/hr and the Ø index for B is 0.2 in/hr. The
storm is
