and effects of globalization, especially on the Philippines in terms of: Domestic tradition, culture,
values,
rights, and practices and how they impact the nation's political and economic landscape.

further the content.
INTRODUCTION
TRADITION
- When an OFW move to a new nation, they feel that they are expected to grasp and
incorporate into the culture of that country. They make an effort to assimilate into the
host culture, which ultimately leads to a loss of their own cultural identity for them to
easily gain trust or new circle of friends that may help them adapt to the new society and
avoid discrimination or work exploitation.
CULTURE
- Culture is our way of life. It includes our values, beliefs, customs, languages and
traditions which in some cases due to globalization and in their desire to keep up with
the trend, they slowly adapt the leading cultural phenomenon making them slowly forget
their old roots.
VALUES
- Globalization and technological trends result in changing the value of the people
because of the influence that they put on everyone based on what they see on TV, ads,
Internet or the social media such as FB, IG and even YouTube which may lead people to
change priorities and eventually lose family values.
RIGHTS
- Globalization threatens the human rights of indigenous peoples, especially their
aspirations for self-determination, are put in jeopardy. Exploration and colonialism have
resulted in the fast plunder of the lands and natural resources of indigenous peoples, as
well as the annihilation of their intellectual traditions, artistic expressions, and cultural
practices.
PRACTICES
- Globalization leads the Filipinos to forgot their traditional Filipino activities such as Moro
Moro, Kundiman, Zarzuela as well as their performing dances such as tinikling and
carinosa.
2. Propose a practical solution to solve the various issues in culture, values, tradition, rights, and
practices that have an impact on the Philippines' political and economic perspectives brought to
us by other countries, particularly Western countries. Demonstrate this using SWOT Analysis
and explain the contents.
TRADITION - It is important to maintain one's cultural legacy through preserving their
knowledge, ideals, language, history, and literary works. We have a responsibility as citizens of
the 21st generation to preserve the traditions and history by ensuring that they continue to be of
use many years after they were established. A simple post in social media about how Fiesta or
Christmas is celebrated in the Philippines can goes a long way.
CULTURE - Filipinos are known for being hospitable. A simple smile when meeting people can
remind others of the Filipinos' renowned culture of being joyful people who try to show warmth
where and when they can.
VALUES: Keeping strong family ties by making eating together as a habit and to find time to
share a meal with your family, no matter how busy you are.
RIGHTS. Indigenous people can be protected access to education, employment, vocational
training and retraining, housing, sanitation, health care, and social security. The states are
required to implement steps that are both effective and, when necessary, exceptional measures,
in order to ensure a continuous improvement in both their economic and social conditions.
PRACTICES
We need to protect our practices such as our songs and dances since they carry on the tradition
of our ancestors and ensure that it is passed down to the next generation. It is essential for
them to get knowledge regarding traditional practices in order for them to value the Filipino
history while acquiring knowledge regarding the Filipino culture and arts.
