At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
1. Identify the different types of wastes according to its properties.
2. Enumerate/List the different ways of proper waste disposal.
3. Apply the proper waste disposal in real life situations.

Activity 1: “How will I dispose Waste
Materials?”
Objectives:
1.Demonstrate proper disposal of waste
according to its properties.
What you need?
Worn out rubber slippers, used t-shirts,
balloons, plastic bags, aluminum foil, disposable
diapers, soft drinks cans, broken pieces of glass,
empty boxes, peelings of vegetables, leaves,
juice/candy wrappers, old toys made of
wood/plastic

CAUTION: BE careful in handling the
materials especially the broken pieces of glass,
diapers, etc.
1. Go to your assigned station.
2. Identify the kind of materials in your
station.
3. List the materials in your science
notebook.
4. Group the waste materials according to
the following properties:
biodegradable, non-biodegradable,
recyclable, and/or combustible.
5. Use the sacks in your station to place
the waste materials.
6. In your science notebook, list the steps
to be followed in disposing the
materials in your assigned station.
7. Prepare a group presentation on
proper waste segregation to be
performed in class.
