3
Task No. 3 Connect the control circuit only a d.o.l. full voltage non-reversible
magnetic starter with one (1) START-STOP push button and
three (3) indicating lamps.
Where:

STOP lamp lights when the motor is stopped.

RUN lamp lights when the motor is running.

TRIP lamp lights when the overload relay tripped.

Condition:
The STOP and RUN lamps light alternately or one lamp lights at a time.
When the overload relay trips, both the STOP and TRIP lamp light
simultaneously.
MOTOR CIRCUIT is same in Task No. 1 but no need to perform it.

4
Task No. 4 Connect a three phase motor to d.o.l. full voltage non-reversible
magnetic starter with one (1) START-STOP push button station.

MOTOR CIRCUIT is same as in Task No. 1.

9
Task No. 9 Draw control circuit of a d.o.l. full voltage reversible magnetic starter
with one (1) FORWARD-REVERSE-STOP push button, four (4)
indicating lamps, and one (1) electrical door bell or buzzer (select
either one (1) electrical interlock only or with both electrical and
mechanical interlock).
Where:

STOP lamp lights when the motor is stopped.

FORWARD lamp lights when the motor is running clockwise. (cow.)

REVERSE lamp lights when the motor is running counter clockwise

(c.c.w.)
TRIP lamp lights when the overloads relay

Electrical doorbell or buzzer operates when the overload relay tripped.

Condition:
The STOP, FORWARD and REVERSE lamps must light alternately.
When the overload relay tripped both the STOP and TRIP lamps light and at the
same time the electric door bell or buzzer operates.
Lt the instructor check first your control circuit diagram before you perform
actual connection and operation

10
Task No. 10 Connect the control circuit only of d.o.l. full voltage reversible
magnetic starter with two (2) FORWARD-REVERSE-STOP push
buttons. (Select either with electrical interlock only or with both
electrical mechanical interlocks.)

MOTOR CIRCUIT is the same as in Task No. 7 but no need to

perform it.

Condition:

13
Motor 2 cannot be started unless MOTOR 1 is running. Therefore to start
the operation, start first MORTOR 1 then start MOTOR 2.

The two motor are already running. If MOTOR 2 stops, MOTOR 1

continues running. But if MOTOR 1 stops, MOTOR 2 also stops.

When one of the overloads relays trips, the two motor stop.

Steps in Operating a 3PDTSS for Y – r.v.s.

1. Make sure that the 3PSTSS is opened.

2. Pull down the lever of the 3PDTSS so that motor terminal X, Y and Z are
shorted.
3. Turn on the 3PSTSS so that the 3 Ø motor starts running with wye
connection. Observe the voltmeter reading.
4. After 3 sec., pull up the lever of the 3PDTSS so that the 3 Ø motor reverse
to delta connection. Observe the voltmeter reading.
