1. Label preparation
Use the ZebraDesigner2 program to design labels.
At start-up you will be asked whether to open an existing label or create a new one, in the second case you
will need to press Next on the settings until you get to the final screen where you are asked for the label
format.
At this point, it will be possible to insert barcodes, text, images, lines and geometric shapes in the printing
area. In the case of text, it will be possible to choose the preferred font and size, while in the case of
barcodes, it will be necessary to choose the type of barcode of interest and comply with the rules imposed
for each barcode.

Once you have finished the label design you have to save it by creating the file "Example.lbl". Press
afterwards on File, Print in progress, to create the print to file.
This procedure will create the file "Esempio.prn", which will be the file in machine language that the printer
will process and print. If in the future a label should be modified, it will be necessary, after having saved the
new label, to recreate the file.prn that will contain the modifications made.
At this point the two files created must be taken to the PC in communication with the printer and copied
into the folder "Layout", which has a shortcut on the desktop. Only from this folder will the files be visible
to TopEasy.

2. Uploading recipes to TopEasy
When starting the PC, the executable starts by itself and the programme appears on its main screen. If any
communication problems or errors should occur on the applicator, the currently green lamp will be red and
the error will be displayed on the right-hand window. (e.g. End of paper).
From here you can choose whether to enter a new recipe or to retrieve one already created for production.
2a. Entering a new recipe
Click on Data entry, press for a few seconds on the "Article" entry. At this point the virtual keyboard for
entering a new recipe will open. Then go to the section "Layout" and click on "browse" to choose the label
previously prepared with ZebraDesigner. If we have loaded the layouts in the correct path at this point all
the prepared labels will be visible.
When the article and layout have been matched, click on Save, the fields will be emptied and the saving will
be successful. You can now retrieve the newly created recipe.

2b. Change recipes for production
To retrieve a recipe that has already been created and to start production, go to Output Assignment when
the Run selector is set to "0" and the line is stopped. In the "Article" window, choose the product to be
printed. Pressing on "Load" will turn the "Layout" section green”.
Now press the green layout transfer button:
Wait a few seconds for the data to be sent to the labeller. Turn the Run selector to "1" and start the line.
When the pallet is in position, the printer will receive the inserted product from the PC, print it and apply it
to the pallet. If everything is successful, the arm will return and the pallet will continue on its way.

3. Labeller Maintenance
For routine operation of the machine, it will be necessary to have a stock of Ribbons (ink rolls) and labels.
3a. Ribbon change
It is recommended to stop the line when ribbon replacement operations are performed and turn the run
selector to "0". Lift the printer door (the printer will automatically pause), open the head as shown in the
photo, remove the empty cardboard core and replace it with the recovered ribbon, which will be discarded.
Insert the new ribbon in the position indicated by the drawing and wrap it partially by hand over the core
we have just put in the recovered position, so that it can no longer slip. Close the head and lower the
printer door.
Remove the pause from the printer by pressing the pause button. When the printer is "Ready" again, press
the "feed" key to calibrate the label. The “feed” button will output a white label.

3b. Label change
It is advisable to stop the line when you are replacing consumables and turn the run selector to "0". Raise
the printer door (the printer will automatically pause), open the print head as shown in the photo, open the
paper inlet lock and the media rewind lock.

Once the paper has been loaded close the 3 open levers and rewind the holder, making sure that when the
friction arm is moved the rewinder will start to turn (if after about ten seconds it has not felt any strain it
will stop rotating).
At this point you will remove the pause from the machine and when you see the words "ready" press
"feed" a couple of times making 2 white labels come out to calibrate the paper and align it on its correct
position.
