TASK 2.
2: Extend your project
proposal
Due Date: 16 March 2023, 2pm
Task 2.2: Extend your proposal into a comprehensive project plan
Review on the feedback you received from the mid module review; you will have received lots of
input from your peers and tutors about ways of developing your work into a resolved outcome.
Reflect on the feedback you’ve received so far and consider on how you can develop from your initial
ambitions. Use this extended project proposal as a planning document to help you to identify the
necessary materials and preparation time needed to develop your work.
You can complete this form, save it as a PDF and upload this onto your Weebly site.

Programme of study Interior Design
What group are you in?
1. What are your creative interests?
Reflect on your learning in this module so far and consider how your creative interests have
developed. How have the projects and processes developed your thinking and making?
At the beginning of this module I was very focused on not wanting to draw anything and avoiding
any kind of drawing or sketching. With the initial task being drawing week it pushed me outside
my comfort zone and I ended up quite enjoying the challenge as I found that focusing in on an
object and trying to get the lines to flow to create the form was fun and something that would be
very useful to me as an Interior Designer.
I have always greatly enjoyed model making with this being my most prominent creative interest,
doing the object model made me push the boundaries of what a model or sculpture can be.
Normally when making a model I would focus on getting it as realistic as I could especially as I
would normally make animals. Whilst doing this project I realised that I enjoyed playing with
illusions and reality and want to work towards making more pieces that have elements of
deception in them.
2. Reflect on the feedback from the mid module review, what are the emerging themes,
concepts and questions.
Use this section to talk about the meaning of this project for you at this stage; what are
your themes and ideas? What feedback that you’ve had on your project work from peers
and tutors?
Which artists, designers, films, books, filmmakers, photographers have been suggested to
you to follow up? How do these references inspire and push forward your own work?
During the mid module review I talked about how I wanted to create a comedic animation, when
asked why and what themes and ideas I wanted to go off from I found myself a bit stuck. My peers
and tutor helped me to realise I needed to think more about the storyline and the message I
wanted to convey. My tutor also asked me how I was linking this to Interior Design, I found that I
hadn’t been thinking about this and she suggested several ways in which I can relate it to interior
design outside of the typical houses and buildings such as proportions in space. This ties in nicely
with the idea of illusions and deceit that I have been enjoying.
There wasn’t any particular artists suggested to me during my mid module review but one of my
peers recommended that I watch one of Mary’s previous projects – Nokia 8. It was also suggested
to me that I look more into the symbology behind things and the way in which comedy can be
meaningful.
3. What materials or tools do you need to source, arrange or learn to create a wider body of
focused work and exploration?
Identify and organise the materials you need to source, digital tools or resources to arrange and
learn?
How can you improve your sense of creative resilience and productivity? How can you create ways
to better organise your workload and time management to fulfil your potential?
To start this project I knew that I needed to be as organised as I possibly could about the materials
I needed as I was going home in order to attend appointments. This meant I wouldn’t be able to
access the studio for equipment or materials.
In order to create this animation I needed quite a few tools such as a tripod, originally I asked if I
could borrow one from the studio but I realised this wouldn’t be fair to other students that are
also looking to create animations. I invested in a tripod for myself so that I could take it home and
use it as I needed, I also got myself some essential tools such as a hot glue gun and duct tape as I
knew I could use these not just for this project but throughout my creative practices.
I also spent some time the week before the mid module review collecting different fabrics and
wires as well as planning out what materials I wanted/needed to buy. To start I only had one
colour of plasticine but quickly realised I needed to buy a range of colours to add more to my
work, to make it more interesting and bring more personality to my character.
I also need to use programs such as stop motion pro and adobe premier, I already had these as I
brought stop motion pro for the film project and already have premier installed.
To improve my sense of creative resilience and productivity I feel I could have planned out better
what I wanted to do with more sketching out characters and thinking more about the materials I
would need so that I didn’t hinder myself by getting stuck with a lack of materials.
My potential planned outcome is best described as…(tick the most appropriate)
Traditional 2D - (Drawing, Painting, collage using real materials and too
Digital 2D - (Images produced using digital tools such as procreate/photoshop etc.

4. You will be submitting your Module 2 on the 16 March, 2pm. To help you work towards this
deadline in an organised way, you will need to set yourself weekly goals.
What do you need to achieve on a weekly basis to ensure you execute a lively body of thematic
experimentation?
Make a weekly plan below. What will you work on a weekly basis? What project resources do you
need? What health and safety considerations do you need to take on board?
To execute this project I need to figure out how much time I have to work on it around travelling
and appointments.
I need to research different artists and animation techniques.
I have got books out of the library that relate to animation, I need to read through these books.
I need to experiment with different materials, in particular different methods of adding colour
onto mod roc.
I will be working a lot with mod roc and a hot glue gun so I need to take healthy and safety
precautions surrounding these as well as using a sharp blade to cut materials and the use of wire
as a material.
