ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON THE “NUMBER OF COMPLETED

INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN THE CITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES”

Purpose of Report

The Philippines, a developing economy in Southeast Asia, has a limited impact

of infrastructure spending on economic growth and poverty. The administration is still
putting changes into effect to foster economic growth and raise the nation’s living
standards. This is very significant since it has been trailing other East Asian nations in
terms of economic size and per capita income, particularly road infrastructure that
serves as an instrumental in enhancing agricultural productivity in the country.
Philippine Infrastructure had kept up with the implementation of various infrastructure
projects on various islands in the Philippines. Twenty-three infrastructure projects will
be built; five of these infrastructures have already been completed, while the remaining
eighteen are still under construction.

Problems Encountered

At this juncture, the number of completed infrastructure projects in the different

cities is shown in the available data. However, some cities completed the project, but
some are still in the progress. Some possible factors and reasons may cause delays
to the project. Among the persisting challenges of infrastructure are as follows: poor
planning, coordination, and finance, a lack of private sector participation in
infrastructure provision, and an unfavorable business climate all hinder the
infrastructure development in the nation.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Although despite of challenges in this project, there has completed

approximately 20% of the work. This project anticipates a successful completion to
significantly impact the general public's quality of life and the Filipino economy once
they are completed, with improved healthcare institutions and transportation. The
government must make sure that its spending is well controlled, strengthen the public
procurement procedure, increase transparency, and reduce corruption and
controversy over infrastructure projects and tax reform can support the infrastructure
initiative while preserving economic viability. These are some ways to help to progress
this project.
