As a teacher in Surfside Beach, SC, you volunteer on the local Community Action Board. Each year the
board selects students for the Ryle Foundation Scholarship. To qualify for the scholarship the students
must score above average on at least two of the three measures assessed:  motivation, intelligence and
general knowledge. The board meets to review the student applications and the board secretary
presents you with the following summary of scores for all applicants:

To be above average in the Motivation (M)-test one needs to score 61 or better.
To be above average in the General Knowledge (GK)-test one needs to score 601 or better.

Nine students qualify for the Scholarship as they scored at or above the needed points to have an
above-average score.
