PROJECT OVERVIEW
Project Context
Electric fan is one of the most popular electrical
devices due to its cost effectiveness and low power
consumption advantages. It is a common circuit and widely
used in many applications. It is also one of the most
sensible solutions to offer a comfortable and energy
efficient. They also use an enormous amount of electricity,
which is harmful to the environment as we all know. Instead
of utilizing air conditioning, fans can be just as effective
and are much more environmentally friendly. The air in the
room is moved by fans, creating a soft breeze that is
cooling.
With the advancement of technology, intelligent system
is introduced every day. Everything is getting sophisticated
day by day. There is an increase demand of technology and
smart electronic system. Electric fan is one of the most
popular electronic devices due to its cost effectiveness and
low power consumption advantages. It is one of the most
sensible to offer a comfortable d energy efficient. The fan
has been long used and still available in the market.

Project Overview
Demand for the accurate temperature control has
conquered many of industrial domains. Automatic temperature
control is important in order to maintain a comfortable
environment. Automation system aims to further the cause of
automation to achieve the goal of simplicity. In primitive
way of using a fan by button the switch and by controlling
the speed controller, there is no chance that the
temperature can change the speed of fan except changing the
speed of fan by manually. So, it is needed to create an
automatic temperature control system the electric fan to
automatically change the speed level according to
temperature changes and develop an automatic fan system that
can change the speed level due to the environment
temperature changes.
In year 2018, K. Kanchanasatian said that using a fan
is an inexpensive choice compared to spending more on using
an air conditioner especially in some areas where high
temperature is naturally normal. Some problems, nonetheless,
arisen such as users forget to turn off when being away,
some people might get a feeling of annoyance and perhaps
frustration when getting up from the seat in order to adjust
the speed. These result in a rise of electricity bill from

leaving the fan on when it is not in use and it may cause
disasters, fire for example, when the motor get heated up.
We used Arduino as a central component in this study to
design and implement our project. Arduino is an open-source
electronics platform that enables users to build interactive
projects by combining hardware components such as sensors
and actuators with software code that runs on the Arduino
microcontroller. We were able to use the Arduino platform
to create custom electronic circuits, interface with sensors
and other devices, and write software code to control the
behavior of our project. The Arduino is the system's brain.
It accepts input from the H&T sensor, which allows for the
measurement of the current room temperature, and then
instructs the controller to maintain the required fan speed.
Speed control can be accomplished by dumping the parameters
specified by the user. The fan speed and room temperature
are displayed on an LCD.
This project is a standalone automatic fan speed
control and monitoring system that controls the speed of an
electric fan according to the requirement. Use of embedded
technology makes this closed-loop feedback-control system
efficient and reliable. The microcontroller (MCU)
ATMega8/168/328 allows dynamic and faster control and the

LCD makes the system user-friendly. Sensed temperature and
fan speed levels are simultaneously displayed on the LCD
panel.
The project is very compact and uses a few components
only. It can be implemented for several applications
including air-conditioners, water-heaters, snow-melters,
ovens, heat-exchangers, mixers, furnaces, incubators,
thermal baths and veterinary operating tables. The project
will help save energy/electricity.
Objectives of the Project
The research design aims to develop Arduino Based Fan
Controlled System which will serve as monitoring system for
business establishments and regular people who owned units.
The project design aims to:
1. To develop a mobile application that can monitor
when the electric fan is working.
2. To design a controller using temperature sensor.
3. To identify the features of the proposed system in
terms of:
a. Real-time temperature monitoring
b. Automatic temperature control
c. Energy Efficiency monitoring
4. To test the acceptability of the system.

Significance of the Study
The outcome of the study is significant to the
following person's foremost of which are follows:
1. Users. This study will be helpful to users to reduce
the power consumption and also to assist people who are
disabled and are unable to control the speed of fan.
2. To the researchers. This study will help the
researchers broaden their knowledge.
3. To the future researchers. To future researchers,
they can use this study for their literature review about
fan speed control and monitoring system and can also use it
as a springboard to integrate other innovation and other
features of fan speed control and monitoring system.
Scope and Limitation
Fan Speed Controlled and Monitoring System is an
Arduino-based system that can automatically change the fan
speed level based on temperature. The system is controlled
by a mobile app, allowing users to adjust the fan speed and
temperature settings from their smartphone. If the fan
fails, the system can monitor it and send notification
alerts to the user's smartphone. Users can set fan speed

settings, monitor fan performance, and receive notifications
through a user-friendly interface provided by the system.
The interface can be accessed locally, remotely via a web
interface, or through a mobile app.
The system's ability to work with various fan types,
motor controllers, and communication protocols may be
limited. It may need to be customized or upgraded to work
with specific fan types or models. The precision and
dependability of the sensors used may have an impact on the
system's overall efficiency and the efficacy of fan speed
management. Inaccurate sensor data can result in false
warnings or incorrect fan speed adjustments. Dust, humidity,
and electromagnetic interference, which can affect sensor
precision and system operation, can all have an impact on
how well the system performs.
