Draw and label the animal cell and plant cell

An animal cell

A plant cell

What are producers?

Producers are organisms that produce their own organic matterusing an external
source of energy. Producers are the first organisms on the food chian.
Why are plants called autotrophs?
Plants are called autotrophs because they produce their own food. Autotrophs is the
scientific name given to producers.
What are the different types of consumers in an ecosystem?
A. Primary consumers
B. Secondary consumers
C. Tertiary consumers
Do all plants undergo photosynthesis?
All plants, algae, and even some microorganisms perform photosynthesis. To
perform photosynthesis, plants need three things, which are carbon dioxide, water,
and sunlight.
Mention three positive and negative stimuli in the ecosystem?
A. Negative stimuli
1) annoyance
2) bother
3)infliction
B. Positive stimuli
1) delight,
2) joy
3) pleasure

Give 5 differences between;

I) Living and non-living things
Living Things Non-living Things
Living things give birth to their young ones of They do not reproduce.
their own kind
They move by themselves. They move by the help of animals.
They increase in size. They do not increase in size.
They eat. Non-living things cannot eat.
They respond to stimuli. They do not feel.

II) Plants and animals

Plants Animals
Plants are producers. Animals are consumers.
They move certain parts of their body. Animals move place to place.
Plants perform respiration through stomata. Animal performs respiration through lungs
and skin.
Plants take carbon dioxide and release Animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon
oxygen. dioxide.
They do not have any digestion system. They have a digestive system

Mention five similarities between plants and animals.

1. They both move.
2. Both plants and animals feed.
3. Plants and animals grow.
4. They remove waste metabolic substances.
5. They can produce young ones of their kind.

What is extinction?
It is the dying out or extermination of a species. Extinction occurs when species are
diminished because of environmental forces.

What are endangered species?

Endangered species are the organisms whose number have reduced drastically and
if not conserved will become extinct.
Suggest three ways to protect endangered species.
1. Minimize use of herbicides and pesticides.
2. Reduce your use of water in your home and garden so that animals that live in
water.
3. Create a backyard wildlife habitat.
Why is movement important in living things?
Movement is a characteristic of living things, which allows or enables them to
move parts of their bodies or from place to place. Movement helps living things in
so many ways such as cooking, washing, looking for food and many more.
