Introduction This course examines project management roles and environments, the project life cycle and various techniques of work planning, and control and evaluation to achieve project objectives. The tools currently available to project managers are discussed throughout this course. Course Objectives By the end of this class, the participants should: 1. Know how to manage the flow of project information during the various phases of the project. 2. Be able to manage the various types and sources of risk that are the primary responsibility of the project supervisor. 3. Understand the role of planning and scheduling in the pre-construction phase of a construction project. 4. Be able participate in project layout and start up. 5. Be able to plan for efficient material handling. 6. Understand how project financing plays a role in modern construction management, cash flow, and project cost control.
