Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Cookery 10

Date: May 15, 2019


Time Frame: 2 Hours

I . Objectives

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

a. Enumerate the important events in the history of baking;


b. Determine the importance of knowing the history of baking through a
discussion; and
c. Make a timeline of the history of baking through group activity.

II . Subject Matter

A. Topic : History of Baking


B. Reference : IBake.com.ph/historyofbreadandbaking and
Wikipidia.com.ph/originofbaking
C. Materials : Projector; Laptop; Pictures; Intructional Materials; and
Multimedia Presentation

III . Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Classroom Management
e. Motivation
The teacher will group the class into four groups, each
group will be given a pair of picture puzzle and a letters. The game
is called “Mix ‘n Fix”, within 5 minutes the groups need to guess the
correct word in the definition the teacher will present and then
arrange the puzzle to show the correct image.

B. Lesson Proper
a. Activity
Discussion of the topic regarding the history of baking.
The teacher will ask the questions to the students:
1. Class, have you experience how to baked?
2. What baked products have you tried to bake?
b. Analysis
The teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. What is roasting?
2. What is baking?

c. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the timeline of the history of
baking and the difference and similarities of baking and roasting.

d. Application
Each group will make the timeline of the history of baking
and taped in a sheet of paper. The activity should last for 10
minutes.

IV . Evaluation
A. The students will prepare a one half crosswise sheet of paper and the
teacher will conduct a 10 items quiz.

V . Assignment
Answer the following in ½ sheet of paper.
1. What is the importance of knowing the history of baking.
2. How does it helped in the modern way of baking?
3. Differentiate the tools and equipment in baking before and now.
