We express our gratitude to the blessings given by Allah SWT, so that we can still be given the
opportunity to finish this paper well.and also I, as the author of this paper, thank my friends and
our supervisor for helping me to find or collect material and information for this paper

This paper contains material that will help the readers of this paper to understand the
description test and its structure and function.besides that this paper contains examples of
descriptive text.

We realize that this paper has many shortcomings, starting from the use of vocabulary and
language structure, so we hope that all who read our paper can provide criticism and

INTRODUCTION (PENDAHULUAN)

1.1. Background (Latar Belakang)

Each text has its own function, including descriptive text, which is text that can explain
an event or event. We can explain events that have various events through a description
text.besides explaining events, it can also explain the characteristics of an event, so for
this discussion we will provide information about the definition of descriptive text, its
structure and use of language.

Setiap teks mempunyai fungsinya masing-masing, termasuk teks deskriptif, yaitu teks
yang dapat menjelaskan suatu peristiwa atau kejadian. Kita dapat menjelaskan peristiwa
yang mempunyai berbagai peristiwa melalui teks deskripsi. Selain menjelaskan peristiwa
juga dapat menjelaskan ciri-ciri suatu peristiwa, maka pada pembahasan kali ini kami
akan memberikan informasi tentang pengertian teks deskriptif, strukturnya, dan
penggunaan bahasanya.

DISCUSSION (PEMBAHASAN)

2.1. Meaning (Pengertian)

When we write a detailed description about someone or something,we are writing a

descriptive text.text used to present facts and information about a subject by explaining
its parts, characteristics, etc.

Ketika kita menulis deskripsi rinci tentang seseorang atau sesuatu, kita sedang menulis
teks deskriptif. Teks yang digunakan untuk menyajikan fakta dan informasi tentang
suatu subjek dengan menjelaskan bagian-bagiannya, karakteristiknya, dll.

2.2. Generic Structure (Struktur Utama)

1. Identification:
In the opening paragraph tell the readers what the description about.

2. Description:
Each one focus on a different part or area, builds up to compare description of the
subject

3. Conclusion:
Summaries the whole description

1. Identifikasi:
Di paragraf pembuka, beri tahu pembaca apa deskripsinya.

2. Keterangan:
Masing-masing fokus pada bagian atau area yang berbeda, dibangun untuk
membandingkan deskripsi subjek

2.3. Language Feature (Fitur Bahasa)

• Using technical terms to introduce the topic to the new reader, as well as
communicative with those already familiar with the topic.

• Using formal and objective language style.

• Using terms for defining and classifying e.g. belongs to, is classified as, like, unlike.

• Using action verb Using adjective

• Using simple present tense to present current facts and information

• Using of singular and plural nouns

• Using of pronoun

• Using of linking verb/relating verb

• Menggunakan istilah-istilah teknis untuk memperkenalkan topik kepada pembaca baru,

serta komunikatif dengan mereka yang sudah familiar dengan topik tersebut.

• Menggunakan gaya bahasa yang formal dan objektif.

• Menggunakan istilah untuk mendefinisikan dan mengklasifikasikan mis. milik,

diklasifikasikan sebagai, seperti, tidak seperti.

2.4. Example Of Description Text (Contoh Teks Deskripsi)

The Sea Eagle

The sea eagle has color feathers is light brown. It has a strong and sharp yellowish beak. It
claws are very sharp. It hunts for fish in the sea but sometimes in hunts chickens and small
birds.

Eagles have many sizes, shapes and colors, but the sea eagle is easy to recognize because it
has astrong a streamlined, sharp beak, and a stream-line bod. It forelimbs (or arms) serve a
wings.

This means that they are a little use for anything expect flying. On walks on two legs and has a
very flexible neck and strong beak to handle foods, to care for its feathers, and for many other
jobs that none-flying animals do with paws, claws, or hands on their forelimbs.

Elang Laut

Elang laut mempunyai warna bulu yang coklat muda. Ia memiliki paruh berwarna kekuningan
yang kuat dan tajam. Cakarnya sangat tajam. Ia berburu ikan di laut tetapi terkadang berburu
ayam dan burung kecil.

Elang mempunyai banyak ukuran, bentuk dan warna, namun elang laut mudah dikenali karena
memiliki paruh yang kuat dan ramping serta badan yang ramping. Tungkai depan (atau lengan)
berfungsi sebagai sayap.

Ini berarti bahwa mereka tidak berguna untuk apa pun selain terbang. Berjalan dengan dua kaki
dan memiliki leher yang sangat fleksibel serta paruh yang kuat untuk menangani makanan,
merawat bulunya, dan untuk banyak pekerjaan lain yang dilakukan hewan tidak bisa terbang
dengan cakar, cakar, atau tangan di kaki depannya.

Lamp

It is a receptor that converts energy. Although the lamp is commonly known as a unified object,
the truth is that it can be divided into two parts: on one side is the luminary (which is the device
that serves as a support) and the proper lamp which is the device that produces the light (bulb).

Although originally the lamps only have the function of lighting a room or sector of the home,
there are lamps of all kinds and a great classification can be made according to their age, their
price, their durability, their style, etc

Lamington National Park is a luscious tropical rainforest. It is located 110 kilometers south of
Brisbane and is reached by following the Pacific Highway to Nerang and then by traveling
through the Numinbah Valley.

This scenic roadway lies in the shadow of the Lamington National Park. The phenomenon of the
rock formed into a natural arch and the cave through which a waterfall cascades is a short 1
kilometer walk below a dense rainforest canopy from the main picnic area.

Swimming is permitted in the rock pools. Night-time visitors to the cave will discover the unique
feature of the glow worms. Picnic areas offer toilets, barbecues, shelter sheds, water and fire
places, however, overnight camping is not permitted.

Lampu

Ini adalah reseptor yang mengubah energi. Meskipun lampu umumnya dikenal sebagai suatu
benda yang menyatu, namun kenyataannya ia dapat dibagi menjadi dua bagian: di satu sisi
terdapat benda termasyhur (yaitu alat yang berfungsi sebagai penyangga) dan lampu yang
tepat yaitu alat yang menghasilkan. lampu (bohlam).

Walaupun awalnya lampu hanya berfungsi untuk menerangi suatu ruangan atau sektor rumah,
namun terdapat berbagai jenis lampu dan dapat dibuat klasifikasi yang bagus berdasarkan
umurnya, harganya, keawetannya, gayanya, dll.

Taman Nasional Lamington adalah hutan hujan tropis yang indah. Letaknya 110 kilometer
selatan Brisbane dan dicapai dengan mengikuti Pacific Highway ke Nerang dan kemudian
melalui Lembah Numinbah.

Jalan raya yang indah ini terletak di bawah bayang-bayang Taman Nasional Lamington.
Fenomena bebatuan yang terbentuk menjadi lengkungan alami dan gua tempat air terjun

mengalir berjarak 1 kilometer berjalan kaki di bawah kanopi hutan hujan lebat dari area piknik
utama.

Berenang diperbolehkan di kolam batu. Pengunjung gua pada malam hari akan menemukan
ciri-ciri unik dari cacing bercahaya. Area piknik menyediakan toilet, barbekyu, tempat berteduh,
tempat air dan api, namun berkemah semalam tidak diizinkan.

CLOSING (PENUTUPAN)

3.1. Conclusion (Kesimpulan)

Descriptive text has an important role in helping readers imagine and understand a
subject more deeply. In addition, description text is also useful for getting a description of
something such as a place, surroundings, and so on. Readers will also see, feel and
experience what the author describes.

Teks deskriptif memiliki peran penting dalam membantu pembaca membayangkan dan
memahami suatu subjek lebih dalam. Selain itu, teks deskriptif juga berguna untuk
mendapatkan gambaran tentang sesuatu seperti tempat, lingkungan, dan lain
sebagainya. Pembaca juga akan melihat, merasakan dan mengalami apa yang penulis
uraikan.

3.2. Messages/Impressions (Pesan/Kesan)

Our message and impression from group 3 about descriptive text material is that
studying descriptive text will make it easier for us to better understand a material
because descriptive text will make readers see, feel and experience what the author
describes.

Pesan dan kesan kami dari kelompok 3 tentang materi teks deskriptif adalah dengan
mempelajari deskriptif teks akan memudahkan kita untuk lebih memahami suatu materi
karena deskriptif teks akan membuat pembaca ikut melihat, merasakan dan mengalami
apa yang dideskripsikan oleh penulis.
