ABSTRACT
This study explores the how’s and why’s of the student who transfer to
the other schools; and how they overcome the challenges after transferring.
The said study aims to investigate and identify the transferee students’
experiences and struggles on every situation they face. The problems they
encountered, and how they deal and cope on such difficulties. This study used
a qualitative approach. It is a subjective report which made the utilization of
phenomenological way to deal with accumulating important information. The
method used in this study is the use of fish-bowl technique. Based on the
participants responses on their perceptions on transferee on transferee
students. The respondents confirmed that the reason why they transfer is
because they want to study here in the province, one of the forces that makes
it a challenge for the students. The findings show that the participants
encountered lack of money, no transportation budget and difficulty in
requirements issuance which make it a challenge for them. Moreover, it shows
that the effect of this to the students are: they are always late in class, sleepless,
and unable to make the necessary activities required for them to submit
because of financial support. The respondents suggest and recommend
students who want to transfer to give fast action on the issuance of the
requirements they needed to the school where they transfer.
CHAPTER I
The Problem and It’s Setting
Background of the Study
Transferee students are a diverse and growing population that has been
previously neglected in both the literature and institutions of higher education.
Their characteristics lead to a qualitatively different students’ experience.
Drawing on interviews with across sectional sample of transfer students
perceived their social and academic engagement on the ways they engaged
academically and socially; and on the ways in which their perceptions of
engagement and their actual patterns of engagement affected their sense of
belongingness.
Due to these transferee students viewed social engagement in the
context of family and community. The findings have implications for how
campuses support transferee students and questions assumptions about some
engagement theories.
According to a study funded in community, high school students
transferring to a 6 years high school face a variety of challenges. Challenges
are defined as a difficult task or problem or something that is hard to do.
(Webster, 2014)
In 2010, the college Boards Advocacy and policy center with financial
support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations, initiated a project to
identify ways to improving the efficiency of transferring students.
In the Philippines, there is still further challenges lie in the improvement
of the quality of both the measurement instruments in specific fields hampers
the comparison of study results. It is in this light the purpose of this study to
determine whether transferring students the article is there fold to provide the
theoretical framework guiding the development the design of the discuss the
instrumentation and psychometric properties of the articulate the benefits and
also the relation of challenges of different grade level (high school) in Pilar
national Agricultural High School.
Research Questions
This study was focused on the challenges of transferring students with
in the locality.
The study sought to answer the following questions:
1. What are the factors that contribute to the transferring students of any
grade levels in High Schools?
2. What are the ways of transferring students?
3. What are the findings of the students?
Significance of the Study
This study will be able to contribute research based data and knowledge
on the possible relationship in any grade levels of the challenges of transferee
students.
Students – The result will provide the students with some information of
how transferee students overcome it. It will give students realization about it.
School – This study will help the school in creating a good strategy or an
idea to create or enrich the school programs.
Future Researchers – This could serve as a baseline data for
researchers who wish to improve their own study. This may be used as a guide
for those who aim to emphasize the concepts of the study.
Scope and Limitation
This study was conducted in Barangay Pilar during the School Year
2022-2023. This is to understand the implementation of the voucher scheme
the privatization of school provision in the Philippines of diminishing and the
schools despite its initial equity focus the responses by schools segregation
and stratification dynamic between and within schools.
This study only limit to the respondents only studying in Pilar National
Agricultural High School. First because of the time limit, the research was
conducted with only few respondents, second if what saying the respondent is
that the final answer of your respondents that you write, and limitations in
transferring knowledge or information processing abilities influence decisions.
There could be something different in the experiences.
CHAPTER II
Review of Related Literature
This chapter presents related studies after a thorough research done by the
researchers. This section shows relevant information provided by the different
sources to determine the transferring students of different grade levels in Pilar
National Agricultural High School. And to discuss the trends surrounding
transfers students. Also presented is a synthesis of research on transferee
students.
Related Literature
This literature and studies by other researchers and well-known authors were
cited to serve as the foundation of the research work. They were mentioned
because they have significant bearing on the study.
According to (Matthias Muller – Brochhausen, Mike Preuss, Ask e, 2021) The
idea of transfer in reinforcement learning (TRL) is intriguing being able to
transfer knowledge from one problem to another problem without learning. This
promises quicker learning and learning more complex methods. To gain an
insights into the field and to detect emerging trends, we performed a data base
search. We note a surprisingly late adoption of deep learning that starts in 2018.
The introduction of the deep learning has not yet solved the greatest challenge
of TRL. This study aimed to evaluate the extent to which year seven students,
teachers and teacher librarians, in Australian state schools would value
question formulation as an information literacy skills. It also aimed to evaluate
the extent to which these students would transfer question formulation across
subjects and across time. The study used a constructivist grounded theory
approach and data were analyzed.
According to (April Sutton, Chandra Muller and Amy G. Langenkamp) The
timing of a high school transfer may shape students transition to college through
its misalignment with the structure of the school year. A transfer that occurs
during the summer interrupts the six years high school career where as a
transfer that occurs midyear disrupts both six year high school career and
structure of the school year. Using the Educational longitudinal study of 2002
(ELS) , the investigators find that the penalty suffered after the transfer depends
on the degree to which student high school pathways synchronize with the
curricular and extracurricular structure of the school year. Midyear transfer
students (experience after their school move) appear to suffer the greatest
postsecondary matriculation penalty. Curricular and extracurricular disruptions
that transfer students experience after their school move explain some, but not
all, of the negative association observed between transferring and the transition
to college some recent efforts use knowledge distillation to compress these
models. However, we see a gap between the performances of the smaller
students models as compared to that the large teacher. In this work, we
leverage large amounts of in domain unlabeled transfer data in addition to a
limited amounts of labeled (transfer data in) training instances to bridge this gap
for distilling BERT. We show that simple RNN based student models even with
hard distillation can perform at par with the huge teachers given the transfer
set. The student performance can be further improved with soft distillation and
leveraging teacher intermediate representations. The idea of transfer in
reinforcement learning (TRL) is intriguing being able to transfer knowledge from
one problem to another problem with learning more complex methods. Transfer
between different domains works well when domains have strong similarities
and most TRL publications focus on different tasks within the some domain that
have few differences. Most TRL applications we encountered compare their
improvements against self-defined baselines, and the fields is still missing
unified benchmarks. This report is an overview of our work on transfer in
reinforcement learning is to speed up learning in a target task by transferring
knowledge from a related, previously learned source task. While many faculty
members consider knowledge of change processes and adaptability to be
important qualities, faculty response also indicate a clear need for guidance if
they are going to integrate new learning models and adequate coping strategies
into their work in higher education.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Diversity – Refers to any differences an individual or his or her prior experiences
that influences that student ability to adjust and succeed in high school.
Native Student – Any student currently attending an institution of higher
education who has only received high school credit from one institution during
his or her high school career.
Student success – Refers to the student’s ability to ultimately complete a
degree and achieve grades during his or her high school experience that allows
him or her to obtain the career position or admission to the graduate school of
choice upon graduation.
Transfer student – Any ungraduated student who has received high school level
credits from more than one institution of higher education not including
international students permanent resident, dual enrollment high school
students, or post-secondary education option (PSEO) program student.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

research questions and interviews questions. This way, it will be easier to see
the patterns and direct responses from the informants.
RESEARCH QUESTION 1: What are the reasons of the students why did
transfer here?
The research questions tried to explore the reasons of students on the
challenges of transferee students. Based on the participants or respondents itis
confirmed that mother want of my two respondents to study here in province.
From the responses it can be inferred that the participants seemed to fully
understand the reasons behind challenges of transferee students.
When they were asked the reasons, the challenges of transferee students said
“Dahil malapit sa aming bahay”
“Because my mother want me to study here in province”
“Kasi walang kasama si lola”
“Kasi gusto ng mama ko”
Thematic Analysis of research question 1:
Key themes Want to study here in province.
RESEARCH QUESTION 2: What are the challenges encountered the
respondents in the school?
The second research question looked at transferee students the other school.
The findings showed that lack requirements, lack of transportation and lack of
money.
When they were asked the respondents what are the challenges encountered
mentioned:
“Merong mga hinihinging requirements na kailangan hingiin sa Manila so
nahirapan kaming ibigay ito sapagkat wala kaming mautusan sa Manila para
makuha yung mga requirements sa dating pinasukan na paaralan.
“Transprtation and sometimes money”
“Pagnagtatanim ay mainit”
“Pag-umuulan kasi wala akong paying”
Thematic Analysis of Research Question 2:
Difficulty in Requirements Issuance
No Transportation Budget
Key Themes
Lack of money
RESEARCH QUESTION 3: What are the effect for challenges of transferee
students?
The third research question looked at the effect of challenges of transferee
students. The findings showed that late of the classes, sleepless, not make the
all activity because lack of money.
When they were asked the effects of transferee students, the participants said:
“Nahuhuli sa pag pasoksa klase”
“Hindi nakakagawa lahat ng aralin dahil sa kakulangan ng pera”
“Nahuhuli sa klase dahil sa hindi tamang oras sa pag tulog”
“Puyat dahil kakalaro ng cellphone”
Late of the classes
Sleepless
Key Themes
They cannot make all the activities
because of lack of money.
.
RESEARCH QUESTION 4: What are the suggestions for students who are
transferee?
The last research questions intended to ask the participants their suggestions.
Among the suggestions are students must be first of all give an action for the
student who has lack of requirements and some of the respondents said the
right time to go the plot is 3:00 to 4:00 o’ clock.
When they were asked question about their suggestions for students who are
transferee students they mentioned:
“I suggest na dapat mag karoon ng action at para matulungan na makuha yung
mga kulang ng requirements at least hindi na mahirapan”
“I suggest that school must give an action for the student who has lack of
requirements”
“I suggest napag mag tanim ay dapat hindi mainit”
“I suggest na sana 3:00 to 4:o’clock ang tamang oras pag-punta sa plot”
Thematic Analysis of Research Question 4:
Must give an action
Key Themes The right time to go the plot is 3:00 to
4:00 o’clock
CHAPTER V
Conclusion and Recommendation
Conclusion
Researches about challenges of transferee students are widely been
conducted in different grade levels but those researches lack of knowledge
about how they face their everyday lives and how they conquer problem they
encountered. This study will help to fully understand the experience of
transferee students. The results of the evidence drawn from a voluminous body
of sources show that the mother of my two respondents want to study here in
province is one of the most driving forces of transferee students. Some of
respondents showed that lack of money, lack of transportation and also lack of
requirements in addition respondents get the sleepless, late of the classes and
they cannot make the all activity it is because lack of money. Most of the
reasons of my respondents why students transfer the other school it is because
is not complete the classroom of every grade levels of student.
Recommendation
In this stage the researches are able to give recommendations to each
person who is involve in this study.
To students - Will provide the student with some on transferee how they
overcome it. It will give the students realization about it.
To school - This study will help the school in creating a good strategy or
an idea to create on enrich the school programs.
To the future researchers - This could serve as a base line data for
researchers who wish to improve their own study.
