The line graph illustrates the amounts of money spent on books in four countries over a

period of 10 years starting from 1995.

From an overall perspective, there was an increase in the amount of money spend on
books in four different examined countries. It is easy to notice that Germany had a
highest figure throughout the period. However, Austria the most dramatic rise in the latter
half of the period.

On the one hand, it can be seen from the graph that Germany and Italy both have slight
increases. Between 1995 and 1999, Germany spent 90 million dollars on books, while
Italy remained at 50 million dollars in 1999. However, both countries increased slightly
towards the end with their spending for books is approximately 95 million dollars in
Germany and more than 60 million dollars in Italy, respectively.

On the other hand, budget on books from 1995 to 2001 in France was nearly twice that of
Austria, 70 million dollars and 40 million dollars respectively. However, in the final
period from 2001 to 2005, Austria spent almost as much money on books as France with
more than 70 million dollars.
